The ‘Teen Mom 2’ star maintained in a new interview that her heartbreaking decision to have an abortion was ‘such a good thing’ for her family because her ex, Courtland Rogers, would never have been able to help her raise a child.
Jenelle Evans spoke out about her controversial decision to abort her ex-husband Courtland Rogers‘ baby without telling him, during her Teen Mom 2 post-show interview with MTV. She insisted that she “just had to” make the difficult choice because Courtland was in no place to step up and help her with another child. She explained she just wanted to have a family, which is something she is working toward now that she is pregnant with her new boyfriend Nathan Griffith‘s child.
Jenelle Evans: Pregnancy Termination ‘Such A Good Thing’ For Family
Jenelle revealed that she experienced every emotion under the sun when she learned she was pregnant again.
“To find out I was pregnant the second time was, like, mind blowing for me,” Jenelle said during her Teen Mom 2 aftershow interview with MTV. “We just got arrested and I ended up being really sick with bronchitis so I had to go to the hospital. So, I go to the hospital, and they’re like, ‘We can’t give you a chest X-ray because you’re pregnant.’ They’re like, ‘Congratulations!’ My heart just came out of my a**.”
Jenelle Evans: Courtland Rogers Wouldn’t Be There For Me Or A Baby
Jenelle explained that she and Courtland were not using protection and didn’t know if he “was gonna step up if we had a baby.”
“It’s just like, all the sh*t we’d been through was not good [for] having a child,” she said of her decision to have an abortion. “I didn’t know what to do. I had to get an abortion, I had to,” she asserted. “He wouldn’t be there for me, his family wouldn’t be there for me. My mom would be, but it would just be me as a single parent and that’s not what I want.”
Jenelle stood behind her decision to terminate her pregnancy, expressing “I want a family. It’s such a good thing I didn’t have this child.”
Now that she is pregnant with her new boyfriend Nathan baby, she says she is in a better place and is working to grow a real family.
