Selena Gomez On Justin Bieber Break Up — ‘Really Bad’ Split Made Her Stronger
Selena, 21, is one of the most poised and positive women out there — but she hasn’t always been so secure.
“I questioned the way I looked, acted, sang, and wrote. I started becoming very stale with my music, and I realized that I was doing things for other people,” she says in a new interview with Seventeen magazine.
But Selena turned her professional life around after she endured a messy split from Justin, 19.
“Then I turned 20, went through a really bad breakup, and realized I needed to pick up everything,” Selena says. “I needed to have ‘Come & Get It’ be amazing. I wanted it all to be me. I was tired of feeling defeated. All this time, I was so pissed trying to figure out why I felt like such an underdog, and I finally realized I just wasn’t ready. I’m glad it’s taken me this long to get where I am because now I am ready for it.”
We’re so proud of Selena! And now that Justin has a second chance with her, he better work hard to prove that he’s worthy of this amazing woman!
