Lauren Tannehill: Shame On You For Leaving An AR-15 Rifle In Your Car

Lauren Tannehill, the hot model wife of Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, left an ‘interesting’ little present behind when she dropped off her rental car on Jan. 4. And by little I really mean huge, since it was an enormous semi-automatic AR-15 rifle.

Who knows why Lauren and Ryan Tannehill feel the need to own an AR-15. Maybe they deal with regular threats to their physical safety, or just really enjoy killing Bambi. But no matter what reason they give for owning that ridiculously large gun, one glaringly obvious fact remains — one should not leave deadly weapons lying around in rental cars.

Lauren Tannehill Should Not Have A Gun License

Was Lauren Tannehill aiming to take down a group of violent white supremacists à la Breaking Bad when she put that rifle in her rental car? Gearing up for a zombie apocalypse? Prepping for a deadly secret mission with Rambo? Because if so, then I take everything back because she’s a bona fide badass. Unfortunately, I do not think that this is the case.

Lauren Tannehill Gun Scandal

In case you missed it, Lauren rented a Nissan Rogue for a couple of hours on Jan. 4, then returned the car with the rifle still hanging out in the backseat. Later that day Judith Fleissig, 58, rented the same Rogue and understandably freaked out when she found an enormous AR-15 — the civilian’s version of the military’s M-16 — in the backseat. And thank God she did, because the next person who rented that car could have not been Judith Fleissig and her daughter. It could have been an Adam Lanza or a Curtis Reeves or heck — just any unstable person who might take that gun and use it for something nefarious.

I know that whenever another school shooting or movie theater shooting or mall shooting or airport shooting goes down, the National Rifle Association likes to say things like “guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” Whatever your opinion on that may be, you have to agree that driving through a densely populated area in a rental vehicle with a semi-automatic rifle chilling in the backseat is a bad move, because it exposes a deadly weapon to numerous strangers. A rental Nissan Rogue isn’t exactly a Cadillac — anyone could have broken into that car to dig in to the tantalizing giant gun bag that Lauren left in the back seat. It was an undeniably stupid move, and one that could have let to an infinite number of tragic events.

Luckily, Judith Fleissig was intelligent and responsible enough to do the right thing and return the weapon. Lauren Tannehill, however, proved that she is neither responsible nor intelligent, and that she probably shouldn’t own a deadly semi-automatic rifle that could cause unthinkable devastation if it were placed in the wrong hands. Which, you know, it almost was.

What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Should Lauren have her license revoked for leaving her AR-15 lying around?

There is nothing enormous, scary, or huge about an AR-15. It is actually relatively small for a urban defense rifle. Now, they may have made a mistake by accidentally forgetting it in the back of their vehicle, but in all due reality it was (from the looks of the picture) safely in its case. Big deal. Just call the previous owner and say ‘you forgot your AR15, come pick it up’. Any smart person knows this is not a big enormous deal.

Mr Gentleman,

Yes, right…so many values in your head…but since you are talking about mental health, and that we should not blame inanimate objects, try to convince me, then, that the lady with the gun in the car is mentally healthy…( and do not forget the content of your first post). Thank you.

Good grief, there is nothing wrong with carrying a legally owned gun in a car, which Tannehill’s was. It was even in a case. She is not “mentally unstable”. The fact people like you vote scares the day lights out of me, which probably explains a lot of problems in the world today.

Dear Mississppi Gentleman,

“The fact people like you vote scares the day lights out of me, which probably explains a lot of problems in the world today”.

SERIOUSLY?

If the world depended on me, be sure that guns would never be licensed to people unless under very special and proven conditions, nor sold to the public ( without license).

The problem in USA is the liberalism that people like you defend, and it´s that liberalism that ruined
your country.
Are you telling me that it´s NORMAL to have a gun in the (back seat of) a car? Forgotten in a rented vehicle?! Imagine that ” inanimate object” like you called it, in the hands of a child or others ( delinquents) and the eventual consequences from that simple act, meaning ” i forgot my inanimate objet and someone took it and used it?!
There is still a diference between a gun (propriu sensu) and a pencil, or a “punch in the head» or other ways used to kill people. That´s why society demands a license for guns even for drugs….
Let´s then legalise everything. So what´s left? Everyone is left to their own resolve.

By the way I could also qualify you with sarcasm, incredulousness, but I refuse to play that role, because arguments depend on exchang of ideas and values and not hostile comments, or dogmas or attitudes. We do in fact reside in different worlds…and mine doesn not live with guns….

However, I am happy that there is still laws, otherwise I would consider to be in danger near people withe your thougts…I am sure you have a gun, maybe that´s why you call yourself (gentle) man Mississippi.

Thank you

Mr. Kaufmann,

“A butter knife can kill if in the wrong hands. A pencil can kill if in the wrong hands. A rock, a book, a baseball bat, a screwdriver, a pretzel. Get over your irrational fears, susana”

You´re right…however there´s still a big difference. Everything can kill, even a bad word. However, if my fears are allegedly irrational, would you be so kind to explain why do people need a license to own a gun? Why does society require people to obtain a license to carry a gun, if it is irrational?

I guess this is what happens when liberal journalists with absolutely no knowledge of firearms try to speak on the matter. Mrs. Murphy couldn’t be more clueless and off base. The big spooky AR-15 is nothing more than a varmint rifle. It shoots a very small caliber round. It’s certainly not the same gun used in the ending of Breaking Bad. If you’re going to comment on firearms, do yourself a favor and actually know something about them before you ignorantly spew nonsense. And spare us the liberal obnoxious “we are the only enlightened ones in the Western Hemisphere” BS about killing Bambi. And guess what? You don’t have to have a license to own an AR-15. Like I said, it’s a varmint gun used for killing small animals. And guess what, by far the most dangerous thing Mrs. Fliessig was about to do was drive the vehicle. Millions of more people are Lille driving than are from guns. Here’s my point: you, Mrs. Murphy, have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about and as a journalist, you should be ashamed. Maybe you need your “journalism license” removed. Oh wait, those don’t exist either. Derp. You’re a blogger.

So….mississippi gentleman,

does this kind of weapon …kill? If so, do I need to know more about guns?!
It seems that …we don´t need a license to kill, right?
That´s why we watch those tragedies in USA…with guns, because everyone can own a gun.

Exactly. You hit the nail on the head. If guns kill people then pencils misspell words, cars drive drunk, and spoons make people fat. Whatever happened to our accountability? Somewhere along the line we as a nation quit blaming the psychopaths pulling the trigger and started blaming an inanimate object. It’s so preposterous it’s dumbfounding. You wanna stop school shootings– focus on what’s wrong with our mental health system and quit making these maniacs out to be rock stars in the media. There’s a start.
