Viewers were shocked Jan. 16 when Kate Gosselin brought her 13-year-old twins along for an uncomfortable tell-all interview on the ‘Today’ show. HollywoodLife.com caught up with the girls’ father Jon Gosselin for his opinion on the devastating interview — and he’s furious!
The Gosselin family hit the big time in 2007, when viewers fell in love with Jon Gosselin, Kate Gosselin and their eight young children on the reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8. Seven years and a high-profile divorce later, Kate brought twins Mady and Cara, 13, on the Today show for a tell-all interview — but instead of answering Savannah Guthrie‘s questions, the girls glared at their mom, giggled to each other and remained silent. HollywoodLife.com spoke with the girls’ estranged father Jon after the show, and he slammed Kate for being “narcissistic” and having “no sympathy” for their girls.
Jon Gosselin: Kate Needs To ‘Stop Being A Manager & Start Being A Mother.’
Still fuming after watching the interview with his girlfriend Liz, Jon shared some fighting words with us.
“It was horrible, almost like watching a train wreck, and you can’t do anything about it,” Jon told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “I wish I was in the next room so I could scoop them up. … Mady kept looking at the ground and Kate was rolling her eyes [with] no sympathy, no empathy, no encouragement, no arm around them. Nothing!”
Not only was Jon angry about Kate’s lack of compassion, but he was also disgusted that she put words in their daughters’ mouths.
“How can you say my girls feel this way when they’re sitting right next you?” He said. “I would never [put them] in that situation. I love them, and I texted them and said they did great.”
Jon Gosselin: Kate Is ‘Narcissistic’
So why did Kate drag her two young daughters in front of a national audience, resulting in the world’s most uncomfortable interview ever? Jon attributes it to Kate’s constant need for attention, which could prove very damaging for the children.
“I think it’s f—ing horrible that she’d put them in a [position] like this,” Jon said. “She put them on TV for herself. She’s narcissistic.”
HollywoodLifers, do you agree with Jon that Kate was wrong to bring her kids on TV like that? Drop a comment with your thoughts below.
