It’s been far too long since we last saw Robert Pattinson on the big screen, but Rob’s ‘The Rover’ director David Michod helped ease our withdrawal by posting not one but two new Instagram videos about Rob! Check out the condensed footage after the jump.
So sweet! The director of Robert Pattinson‘s new film The Rover, David Michod, cannot stop gushing about our favorite star — to the point where he posted two behind-the-scenes Instagram videos talking about how much he loves working with him!
‘The Rover’ Director David Michod Gushes Over Robert Pattinson
The Rover, in case you didn’t already know, is a crime drama that takes place in the Australian desert in the near future. Rob plays Reynolds, a member of a gang that robs Guy Pearce‘s main character, Eric. Apparently, he was David’s first choice for the role!
“I knew that I wanted to see him,” David says. “And we looked at quite a few people and a number of, you know, quite big names, and sure enough Rob came in and just straight away was my favorite.”
According to David, a lot of this had to do with Rob’s chemistry with Guy.
“I wanted the character to be a guy who remembered a time when things were different,” he continues. “When I then started thinking about that I really then started thinking about Guy.”
So cute! The Rover is set for a U.S. release sometime next summer. In the meantime, check out this tantalizing new peek and let us know your thoughts!
