Elvis’ Birthday In Graceland: Fans Are Celebrating With A 4-Day Party
It’s the King of Rock and Roll’s would-be birthday on Jan. 8 and fans aren’t about to let it go by unnoticed.
To get the party started, a proclamation ceremony will be read in Graceland at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 8. City and county leaders will be on hand to cut the King’s birthday cake and read an annual Elvis Presley Day proclamation, WMCTV reports.
The Graceland Stable will be open for tours from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m, and there will be many more events to do over the next few days, before the celebration wraps up on Jan. 11. A full list of events can be found here.
Do you think they’ll serve Elvis’ signature peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwich? Yum.
Visit Elvis Presley’s Final Resting Place
Did you know Graceland is Elvis’ final resting place? Fans who attend his birthday celebration will also be able to pay their respects to Elvis by visiting his grave site during nightly walk-ups from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
This birthday bash sounds like it would do even the most obsessive Elvis fan (Uncle Jessie?) proud. We’re sure if the King were alive, he’d say, “Thank you. Thank you very much.”
