Beyonce revealed she breastfed her daughter, Blue Ivy, at work while she was in the recording studio after giving birth so that she didn’t have to sacrifice any of her parenting time with baby as she snapped back to making music!
Beyonce really opened up about her experiences as a busy new mom in her ‘Self-Titled’ documentary, including revealing that she breastfed her now nearly 2-year-old daughter Blue Ivy in the recording studio right after she returned to work. Bey struggled to find the balance between continuing her music after becoming a mom and sharing bonding time with her baby, and found that she needed to do both, regardless of the stress.
Beyonce Breastfeeding Blue Ivy At The Studio: Found Balance To Be Working Mom
Beyonce, 32, explained that though she had stepped back into the recording studio soon after her daughter was born, she was trying to juggle all of her responsibilities. “I was breastfeeding, cornrows in my hair, because I was spending so much time being a mother,” Beyonce explained of her time in the studio. “I would take a few hours out of the day and record.”
Getting back into the swing of her career after having a baby was tough on Beyonce, as she struggled to re-capture a sense of her self when she tried to separate her career from her family life. “In real life, I was this mother trying to get my focus and my dreams and myself back,” Beyonce explained.
Beyonce Reveals Her Post-Baby Weight Loss Mantra
For Beyonce, becoming a mother made her want to share her experiences with other women. She chose to flaunt her sexy post-baby curves in her new music videos for her visual album, “Beyonce,” rather than cover up just because she had transitioned into motherhood. “Just because you become a mother doesn’t mean you lose who you are,” Beyonce shared in her documentary, and she made that mantra a major part of her new music videos’ inspiration.
“I was very aware of the fact I was showing my body,” Beyonce said of her more risqué videos, like “Partition.” “I was 195 pounds when I gave birth. I lost 65 pounds. I worked crazily to get my body back and I wanted to show my body.”
“I wanted to show that you can have a child, and you can work hard, and you can get your body back!” she said, and her hard work is definitely motivating!
