Lamar Odom probably wishes 2013 never existed. But with the new year just days away, the one-time Sixth Man of the Year is ready to put all of his time and energy into being a hands-on father to his two children, especially now that he’s split from ex Khloe Kardashian, HollywoodLife.com is EXCLUSIVELY reporting.
Lamar Odom’s Life After Split With Khloe — He’ll Be A Better Father In 2014
With Khloe, 29, out of the picture, the 34-year-old unemployed NBA star is reevaluating his life and planning to make some major changes in 2014. Those plans include being more present in the lives of his children, Destiny, 15, and Lamar Jr., 13.
“He wants to be a better father to his children,” a source close to Lamar EXCLUSIVELY reveals to HollywoodLife.com. “He also wants to love his family, be a son and be proud to be an Odom, get back in the NBA and to never, ever go to the dark side again.”
“He’s keeping it short and simple and striving for things he can achieve,” the source adds.
We’re so glad Lamar is finally making his children a priority. We hope he achieves all of his goals in 2014!

Khloe is also looking toward a brighter future, and she recently revealed to UK’s Cosmo how she’s striving for a more “perfect” life in 2014.
“I love the new year, new beginnings,” she told the mag. “I need a good fresh start; I’m excited for this year to be over with. You only live once so let’s make that one time perfect. We can’t fix our mistakes and imperfections, so let’s have fun. You get what you give out in life.”
