After Selena canceled the Australian leg of her tour on Dec. 19, rumors have swirled that the singer is partying way too hard and is headed for rehab. Could that really be?
Everyone piles on Justin Bieber, but is it possible that his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, is the one who actually has a problem? After a report was released claiming that the “Come & Get It” singer was partying too much and in need of a trip to rehab, a source close to her reveals what’s really going on to HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
Selena Gomez: Is She Going To Rehab?
As many suspected, it appears that the rumors of Selena’s wild ways can’t be backed up. A source who is very close to Selena tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “Reports that she’s going to rehab and seeking professional help are totally not true.”
Which ought to be a relief for Selena fans, because the claims against her were not good. On Dec. 24, a report claimed that Selena had started partying at the beginning of the year with her Spring Breakers co-stars, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson, and that she reportedly didn’t stop once the movie wrapped.
“Her friends and family are worried that there might be a serious problem,” an insider told Star magazine at the time.
Selena Gomez Taking Time Off For Herself
That news, coupled with Selena canceling her tour in Australia on Dec. 19, had fans very concerned that the singer was going through a tumultuous time.
And though it’s good to hear that Selena isn’t suffering from substance abuse or anything like that, it is clear that she just needs to slow down (no pun intended) and take a break.
In an official statement, Selena explained why she was cutting her tour short:
My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them. But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be.
Thankfully, it doesn’t appear that the “time on herself” will include a trip to rehab.
