The third installment of Fabolous’ mixtape is out! In 2011 he released the first ‘Soul Tape,’ followed by 2012’s ‘Soul Tape II.’ On Christmas day, he dropped the third installment — and it features some of the biggest names in hip hop!
Fabolous has done it again! While we already know and love the first song on his mixtape, “Everything was the Same,” we’re already obsessed with the rest of his newly released Soul Tape 3.
Fabolous Releases ‘Soul Tape 3’
Fab’s mix tape came out officially on Dec. 25 and is already a huge hit with the fans — unfortunately, this is the last of the series.
In a recent interview, Fab told Real Talk NY that this would actually be the last of his soul tapes.
“I think it’s a different text of music for even me,” he said of the series. “When I started doing it at first, it was kind of doing it all for a different vibe and that’s what I really wanted to do. It was kind of like a vanity project. The soul beats are still me but over a different text of music. It brewed a series. Soul Tape 2 I continued that, and doing the same thing here. I think this is going to be the last of it though.”
He added that a trilogy is the best idea — and it’s time for something new.
“I think you do three, you give them the trilogy and you move on to a new series or something. I think the third installment will probably be the last one and then if I do another it will be a whole new mixtape.”
Well, we hope that he starts on a new series soon — we can’t get enough!
