Steve Martin Racist Tweet

There was nothing funny about the comedian’s racist tweet — and he was quick to delete the offensive message and offer up an apology. Are you shocked by his behavior? VOTE.

Steve Martin may be known for his hilarious jokes, but an attempt to be funny totally backfired on Dec. 20 when the 68-year-old actor sent out a shocking, racist tweet — and quickly deleted it soon after. The funny man engaged in a Q&A with his 4.5 million Twitter followers, answering questions about grammar rules, when things took a very unfunny turn.

Steve Martin’s Racist Tweet — He Apologizes:

A fan tweeted at the Father of the Bride star, asking: “Is this how you spell lasonia?” Steve tweeted out a racist response, which really shocked and angered fans. “It depends. Are you in an African-American neighborhood or at an Italian restaurant?” Although Steve was quick to delete the tweet, it wasn’t before users captured it with a screenshot — and demanded an apology.

Steve was quick to address his actions and admitted that his tweet was in poor taste.

While Steve Martin is usually hysterical, there was nothing funny about his offensive message — his behavior was truly shocking. What do you think? Are you surprised by Steve’s racist tweet? VOTE and be sure to comment below.
