Jeff Gutt may have come in second behind Alex & Sierra on the Dec. 19 finale of ‘The X Factor,’ but the handsome and talented dad has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. HollywoodLife.com caught up with Jeff backstage after the show, where he revealed his plans for an exciting future.
Jeff Gutt suffered a disappointing loss during the Dec. 19 finale of The X Factor, when Alex & Sierra took the crown over the talented rocker. Find out what Jeff had to say about his future plans — as well as his feelings on Alex & Sierra — after the jump!
Jeff Gutt On Losing ‘X Factor’: ‘Everything Happens For A Reason’
Jeff was the epitome of grace and class when HollywoodLife.com caught up with him after the show. The 37-year-old dad was fresh off his loss, but he still couldn’t wait to discuss how excited he was for the other contestants.
“I feel great, you know?” he said. “Everything happens for a reason. I’m excited for Alex & Sierra. I can’t wait to get their record. And [second runner-up] Carlito [Olivero] — I love that guy. Nothing but respect. He just works so hard. He has had to work so much harder than the rest of us because he was in the bottom a few times, and had to get more songs and had his songs change. Every time I see him he’s working. He’s a warrior. He’s a bad ass.”
He’s definitely a bad ass, but so are you, Jeff. As for Jeff’s immediate plans, the rocker says he’s planning on putting a band together — soon!
“I just cant wait to put a team together,” he said. “[I can’t wait to] put my band together [and begin] the writing process. I have songs I want to start writing. I want to sit in a room with a lot of genius people and figure out what the exact steps are. I can’t wait to get started on that.”
Unfortunately, there is a down side — creating an album will mean a move to Los Angeles, which will take Jeff away from his son, Talon. However, Jeff wasn’t ready to chat about that one just yet.
“I’ve been told I’m going to have to [separate from Talon],” he told HollywoodLife. “But I’m not going to think about that until after the holidays.”
Jeff Gutt Talks Kelly Rowland Duet
When it is time for Jeff to sit with his room full of geniuses, he’ll already have one talented songstress on his team — his mentor Kelly Rowland said she’d love to record a duet!
“I would love to see Kelly rock out,” Jeff told HollywoodLife.com. “That would be pretty sweet. She got me a guitar which was like, ‘Wow!'”
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Are you excited to hear more from Jeff? Would you love to hear him rock out with Kelly?
