Now this is the definition of taking a joke too far. On Dec. 14, a new video surfaced of Miley’s best friend and assistant, Cheyne Thomas, mocking Demi’s emotional tell-all interview with ‘Access Hollywood’ from earlier in the week.
We don’t have to tell you how different Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus are, but it seems like their opposite personalities have begun to result in petty barbs, at least from Miley’s friends. On Dec. 14, a video was posted of Cheyne Thomas, Miley’s assistant and close friend, making fun of one of the most harrowing quotes Demi has ever given about her previous addiction to cocaine.
Miley Cyrus’ BFF Slams Demi Lovato
“I couldn’t go half an hour without cocaine,” Demi tragically told Access Hollywood on Dec. 10. And that haunting quote is the thing Cheyne and friends mocked in a video posted to Instagram (it has since been deleted).
In the video, Cheyne, with a huge grin on his face, says, “I can only go 30 to 60 minutes with coke,” before slamming back a bottle of Coca Cola (get it?). It’s an obvious reference to Demi’s tell-all interview, though we can’t imagine she sees anything funny about the spoof. The singer’s previous drug addiction isn’t exactly a laughing matter, and the only reason Demi opened up about her troubled past was to make sure her fans didn’t go down a similar, dangerous past.
Now, Miley may not have had anything to do with this insensitive diss — she’s only guilty by association — but we imagine that she’ll still get some flak for her assistant’s actions.
Demi Lovato: Did She Diss Miley Cyrus?
Especially because Demi has recently voiced her concern (and possible disgust) over Miley’s partying lifestyle. When explaining why she opened up about her addiction, Miley told Craig Ferguson on the Late Late Show that she wanted to show that behaving like Miley isn’t the best life choice.
“There’s a lot of young people that look up to me and there needs to be someone that stands out and says it’s not about molly and partying and all that stuff,” Demi said.
Is it possible that Cheyne thought he was standing up for Miley? Watch the video above and let us know what you think, HollywoodLifers.
