The designers have to craft a red carpet look in less than a day — but it quickly turns into a red carpet nightmare!

The designers are swept away from New York City to QVC’s headquarters in Westchester, PA — via helicopter no less! Upon arriving, they are greeted by host and QVC correspondent Lisa Robertson. She asks them to design a gown for her that looks just as good on camera as it does in person, and will allow her to move freely during red carpet interviews. The winning look will be worn by her in a live broadcast, and a version of the dress will be sold on QVC — what a great prize this week! After a quick tour of the studios, the designers are left to sketch and then fly back to New York. As the designers figure out their gowns, they all seem to be creating the same silhouette: a fitted mermaid gown. Let’s hope they find a way to break the mold!

‘Project Runway All Stars’ Recap Season 3 Episode 7:

Elena immediately begins to panic after the technique she wanted to achieve doesn’t turn out right. Will she have another meltdown again? Viktor reveals that he’s been keeping a secret for some time and it has been more and more difficult for him to hide it. He pulls his closest friends on the show, Seth Aaron and Elena, into a separate room and tells them he has been HIV positive for seven years. His touching moment with the two of them is heart-breaking but uplifting at the same time, no longer does he have to hide a part of himself and we are so happy for his release.

Zanna comes in to look over the works in progress. After speaking with everyone, and deterring some from the typical mermaid silhouette, she admits to them that their work is not all-star quality. With only five hours left the designers have no choice but to keep diligently working on their garments. Korto is the only one that drastically changes her creation halfway though the day, scrapping her original dress for a different one that hopefully will get finished in time. There is a large concern among several of them about if their models can actually walk in the dresses; Christopher’s skirt has too much tulle, Viktor’s mermaid tail is way too long, and Irina’s dress rips at any slight movement. We hope everyone can get it together in time!

Runway time!

Substituting for Georgina Chapman is previous Project Runway All Star winner Mondo Guerra — ironic since he also admitted his HIV positivity during his original season of Project Runway. Guest judges this week Lisa Robertson and Mad Men‘s Elizabeth Moss joined Mondo and Issac Mizrahi. Alyssa tells the designers that their looks will be judged by both their runway appearance and how they photographed before the runway show.

For the most part, all the models are able to walk down the runway. Viktor’s model has to walk a little funny, and Irina’s dress rips as her model walks up the stairs, but no dramatic falls tonight! Korto and Seth Aaron’s models are the only ones that strut down the runway with definite ease. No doubt the most dramatic was Irina’s white gown, and Seth Aaron’s dress shimmered perfectly as it hit the lights. Viktor’s green dress had some obvious construction issues, and Elena’s resembles a fish in a bad way.

Top: Seth Aaron, Korto, and Christopher. In all honesty, each of these gowns had something wrong with them: Seth Aaron’s dress made his model’s butt look huge, Korto’s beige top was boring, and Christopher’s didn’t photograph well. However all three executed their ideas the best out of the six designers left.

Bottom: Viktor, Elena, and Irina. It’s so sad that such great designers are in the bottom this week. The competition is really heating up! Both Viktor and Irina’s gowns had pretty bad tailoring, while Elena’s was a failed attempt at a new technique. Who will go home this week??

Results!

Winner: Korto! While her look was kind of boring, she won over Lisa Robertson’s heart with how easy her dress would be to sell on QVC. This was also Korto’s first win of the competition! Congrats!

Loser: Irina. Her dress was gorgeous. But like Zanna and the judges told her, it was just too bridal for the challenge. Considering she won last week’s challenge, this elimination should keep the remaining designers on their toes!

What do you guys think? Do you think the judges picked the right winner/loser?

Don’t forget that one of the requirements of the challenge was to have a dress that the host could stand and sit in and show on the red carpet. Irina dress was great when the model just stood there but no where near sitting or stair climbing ready. And then to try to sell it on QVC without it showing as a wedding dress would be hard to do.

What was Alyssa Milano thinking? Her outfit during the judging was awful and her hair was a mess. I know she is not being judged, but she is the host of the show and should set a better example.

This decision was utterly absurd. Irena is clearly the best designer there and has been the most consistent. The others clearly feared her the most. Her dress was 3rd or 4th best easily and it was only the bridal look that stopped it being the best. The judges should be ashamed getting rid of her ahead of so many who are certainly less talented. In fact, of all season of PR Irena has been one of the most consistent designer and was head & shoulders above those in her own season.

Irina’s dress was unraveling at the seams and kept tearing and ripping, then she blames the model for ripping it! To top it off this WASN’T a bridal challenge, she clearly made a bridal gown. She missed the mark on so many levels, she didn’t make what the client asked for at all.I thought she would make it to the finale but this goes to show…one day you’re in, the next you’re out!

Irina’s FELL APART! Was it beautiful? Sure, but not with a huge tear down the front. And she totally threw her model under the bus by blaming her. It wasn’t wearable. She should have gone home. Also, Victor’s was HORRIBLE! Bad color, bad design. I can’t believe Isaac thought it was a good dress. If it wasn’t Irina, it should have been Victor.

I agree with Annie T Irina was THE BEST GOWN of them all, second place Christoper. But this show’s judges have ALWAYS had alternative PC-driven agendas going on. I love Korto as a woman and I like most of her cloths but NO WAY on this dress- either she or Elena ought to have been booted off….. I doubt I’m going to watch this anymore – not because of the talent or lack there of in contestants but by the obvious prejudices of the judges.

This show has just become so ridiculous. Giving people just one day to create a red carpet gown and then berating them for not creating something spectacular especially given the budget they have is just beyond crazy. Irina was by far the most talented of the designers on the show. Her dress was the only one even close to be Red Carpet. The others were either drab, boring, unflattering or downright ugly. I hate that the producers are so cheap and so manipulative. I will not watch this or regular project runway anymore.

After been without work for 6 months, I started freelancing over this site and with a little effort I easily bring in around $65 to $95 per/h! Without any doubt, it’s the easiest and most financially rewarding job I’ve ever had. It changed my life for the better and now I couldn’t be happier. This is what I do… Јоbs95.Сom
