Meet the ladies of Element, ‘The Sing-Off’s’ all-female force to be reckoned with!
On Dec. 9, the new season of NBC’s The Sing-Off will bring 10 of the nation’s hottest a cappella groups together for a melodic melee of epic proportions. Element, this season’s only all-female group, recently paid a visit to HollywoodLife.com to share some secrets about the new season — and to perform a killer rendition of Lorde‘s “Royals!”
Based in New York City, Element features Emily Borromeo, Emily Goglia, Carly Kincannon, Kate Schwarz, Caitlyn Pollock, Katelyn Miles, Liz Asti, Manjula Raman, Jo Vinson and Rachel Chalhoub, most of whom were able to come by for this interview. Naturally, we tried to grill them about the guys in the competition, but don’t get too excited; we’re told they were all “perfect gentlemen.”
(We’re also thinking that what happens at a cappella camp stays at a cappella camp.)
The ladies also told us not to expect too much animosity between the groups this season. They described The Sing-Off as feeling like a “family” — except, of course, during the newly-introduced “Ultimate Sing-Off” challenge. “That’s when things got really intense,” they admitted.
Element Talks Nick Lachey & The New ‘Sing-Off’ Judges
“We grew up listening to all of their music, so it was cool getting to meet them and get advice from them,” the ladies told us.
(As for whether Jewel’s hands are indeed as small as she claimed them to be in her 1998 hit “Hands,” Element had no comment.)
Element’s First Official Music Video
Outside of The Sing-Off, Element also recently recorded a cover of Elvis‘ “Santa Bring My Baby Back (To Me),” and even shot a festive music video to go along with it!
“We just thought we’d come together and spread some holiday cheer,” the girls explained.
You can watch that video here, but don’t be surprised when none of the girls’ faces make an appearance in the sock-puppets-only presentation.
HollywoodLifers, watch Element’s performance of ‘Royals’ above, then drop a comment with your thoughts. And don’t miss the ladies compete on The Sing-Off, beginning Dec. 9 at 9/8c on NBC!
