Hometown girl Selena Gomez brought the house down during the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day halftime show, in a performance that definitely made skipping that pumpkin pie worthwhile.
Selena Gomez, 21, couldn’t resist putting her own Thanksgiving on hold when she received the invitation to perform for her beloved Dallas Cowboys during their Turkey Day halftime show. Selena gave an amazing performance for the ‘Boys, who faced off against the Oakland Raiders for their traditional Thanksgiving Day game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
Selena Gomez At The Thanksgiving Halftime Show
Selena said she was nervous to headline such an iconic show, but we think her performances of “Champion,” “Slow Down” and “Come and Get It” definitely hit its mark. She hinted earlier in the week that her performance would be “something new with a twist of old,” because “we had to make it special for my hometown,” and she definitely lived up to her promise! Also, she looked fabulous.
Now go home and dig into that stuffing, Selena — you deserve it!
Selena Gomez: Nervous To Perform During Thanksgiving Show
“I’m so excited to be here,” Gomez said during the official announcement on Nov. 24. “I’m from Texas, so I’m a little nervous, I’m not going to lie. But I’m very honored and I hope that we come — me, my dancers and my band — and we give Texas a really good show and I make them proud.”
Selena then took to Instagram to give fans an early sneak peek at her performance, but also to let them know that she was feeling the pressure performing on her home turf! “Feels SO good to be home. Hi Dallas. I hope I make TX proud,” she wrote.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Did Selena make Texas proud with her performance?
