Jamie Lynn Spears is no longer just the little sister of pop star, Britney. She stepped into her own spotlight on Nov. 26 when she released her first music video for ‘How Could I Want More.’
Jamie Lynn Spears Releases ‘How Could I Want More’
On Nov. 25, Jamie’s song hit iTunes and she was extremely nervous! “I felt like somebody punched me in the stomach,” she told TasteOfCountry.com. However, it did extremely well on the charts — and just made her even more excited to release the video!
In the video, she pours her heart out about an amazing love she has (the song was written for fiancé, Jamie Watson) and how lucky she is in her relationship. There’s not a bunch of production, but just her standing and singing with a guitar player strumming behind her. The video also cuts out to black and white footage of Jamie working in the studio — it’s a beautiful, intimate look at the process.
And an intimate process it was — she even admitted that she always cries when singing the song.
“Relationships go through ups and downs. This was a point where I’d just broken up with [Jamie] and this song came right from such a vulnerable place that I was in, every time I sing it it just brings me right back there,” she said in the interview. “And to look at where we are now. So every time I go to sing it, all those emotions just come running back up and I just end up crying.”
The emotion definitely helped make the video personal!
“When I recorded the song, I completely cried in the studio,” she added. “Thankfully, my producer didn’t think I was crazy and he continued to work with me. But I think that translates through the song as well. You can hear the emotion behind it.”
