Justin Bieber Releases ‘Roller Coaster’ — About Selena Gomez?

Sun, November 24, 2013 11:47pm EDT by 27 Comments

So much Bieber! Music Mondays continued a few hours early when Justin dropped ‘Roller Coaster’ on Nov. 24. You’ve got to hear how he describes that certain relationship.

With Music Monday songs like “PYD” and “Hold Tight,” Justin Bieber has shown that he really is a skilled lover, but his music series has also allowed him to show his emotional side. Nov. 24, when Justin released “Roller Coaster,” was one of those times. Click here to listen!

Justin Bieber Releases ‘Roller Coaster’

Justin took to twitter to release the song fifty minutes before it was officially Monday at 11:10 PM EST:

The song is about a relationship (ie. Selena Gomez) being like a roller coaster, constantly going up and down. Could he be referencing the on-again off-again status of his relationship with Selena? You can be the judge of that.

Full lyrics:

[Intro]
Come here
I don’t know what happened

[Verse 1]
Where did they go?
Nights like this don’t happen anymore
I need to know
Is it me? or did I lose control?

[Pre-Chorus]
Only overseas
Only memories
Wish I had the key to your heart
People come and go
Baby, they don’t know
What we had before
What it felt before our eyes

[Chorus]
Roller coaster, roller coaster
Spinning all around and around for a world baby
Roller coaster, roller coaster
For a minute we were up, but the next we were falling down

[Verse 2]
It’s been difficult
I’m just happy there’s no fights no more
But it’s nights like this that I never ever missed you more
If there’s a reason why this happens for

[Pre-Chorus]
Only overseas
Only memories
Wish I had the key to your heart
People come and go
Baby, they don’t know
What we had before
What it felt before our eyes

[Chorus]
Roller coaster, roller coaster
Spinning all around and around for a world baby
Roller coaster, roller coaster
For a minute we were up, but the next we were falling down

[Bridge]
Bounce…

[Pre-Chorus]
Only overseas
Only memories
Wish I had the key to your heart
People come and go
Baby, they don’t know
What we had before
What it felt before our eyes

[Chorus]
Roller coaster, roller coaster
Spinning all around and around for a world baby
Roller coaster, roller coaster
For a minute we were up, but the next we were falling down

Justin Bieber’s Broken Heart

It’s no surprise how emotionally raw Justin’s been sounding on his Music Monday tracks, especially considering how he more or less admitted that breaking up with Selena left him heartbroken during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

When the interviewer asked Justin if he had ever had his heart broken, Justin reportedly let his guard down “to answer a surprisingly intimate ‘yes,'” according to THR.

It’s clear those gut-wrenching feelings are still fresh in Justin’s mind. And after all of the bad boy controversies he’s recently gotten himself into, it can be easy to forget that he’s just a kid who feels like he got his heart stepped on. “Roller Coaster” makes us remember.

What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Is “Roller Coaster” your favorite new song? Let us know!

I wish this tune was longer though, hopefully a remix is coming soon. This is a song that you can dance to as well as having a funky old school R&B vibe to it, mix that up with traces of EDM, even disco! Yet there is even a influence of Michael Jackson thrown in. I like that this track takes you on a ride in different directions. Maybe the best song of Justin Bieber’s career.

Okay, the 2 songs that people were waiting for are out Heartbreaker and now Rollercoaster. Beiber fans you can’t make Beiber 15 years again anymore than you can put him back in his Mother’s womb. You can see by his music that it is maturing. This is what he needs to do to stay in music. The Beatles had Meet The Beatles, then look later on Revolver. Growth! Take it from me at 15 I saw Hendrix . Steppenwolf at the Filmore West, Newport Pop Festival 1968. All artists need to grow or fade away. I went to concerts sometimes twice a week Frank Zappa, The Fish you name it I saw them. I see talent in this Beiber kid and if he doesn’t derail he will get better and better.

I WOULD GUESS HALF OF HIS SONGS ARE ABOUT SELENA. I WONDER IF SELENA HAS HEARD ANY OF HIS SONGS. SINCE MOST OF HIS SONGS ARE ABOUT HER.

Well here comes a track that is more fast, I like it! Sounds like a great pop tune. Different from his other songs from Music Mondays. This is more like what people are used to hearing from JB.

Singing raunchy songs like PSY doesn’t show he’s a skilled lover, just that he wants to write songs about sex so he can get a older audience. He’s a kid and no matter how many prostitutes he is with only time makes you a grown up. All his recent behavior just prove how much of a kid he still is. He keeps putting out all these really terrible songs rather than really trying to write and create a great song, not a bunch of immature lyrics with the same sub-par results. Maybe he isn’t capable of creating really good music that will stand the test of time. This stuff is so bubble gum or else it is raunchy and disrespectful of women. I don’t see or hear any authentic growth. He’s just popping out inadequate crap for the money. This is not the work of an artist. Now he is only known as a creepy, troubled kid getting involved in crude, hyper-sexual crap that is so far from the religious kid he always said he was. It’s not about quantity, it’s about quality.

You need to get your head out of the sand! Justin Bieber is growing up, accept it! He can’t be the same 15 year old he once was, nobody can. If he wants to sing about more adult situations, then that is his right as a person and as an young artist. Many artists reinvent themselves and their music and Justin Bieber is no exception. As well Justin Bieber has not released a new album since Believe was released on June 2012, unless you consider his Acoustic album version of Believe released in January 2013. Of course he wouldn’t be in this years AMA’s his album was released in 2012. Music Mondays is also not songs from a album either, they are 10 stand alone weekly digital singles which no other artist in history has attempted. The great reviews Justin has been receiving from music critics for his R&B songs are justification in it’s own right, but you can’t reason with his haters like yolanda it seems. He is gaining the adult fans who listen to R&B and like what they hear from him now and who didn’t listen to his pop music before.

Even the fan based shows like the AMAs have left Justin out. His music is just too mundane. He’s not a great lyricist or singer and the hype is wearing off. His manufactured music just isn’t cutting it, except with most fans, but even they are moving on to other artists. He wanted to be a bad boy so he could rap or do hip hop, get an older audience, but he doesn’t have the artistry. He’s been doing really corny, tween emo music. I don’t think the kid is capable of any more. He should take off some time like Justin Timberlake did and try to develop a new sound that is musically beautiful, not all of these hurried songs that pretty much anyone in high school could write and perform. He’s a tween singer and no matter how many songs about sex he writes, it’s not connecting. Dirty and raunchy like PYD are definitely not going to cut it with either his younger fans, or the elusive fans he wants. Screwing prostitutes, partying with rappers, that doesn’t make you a man…it’s not true to who he is so it comes across as gimmicky and forced and false.
