HollywoodLife.com spoke with the five-time author about his latest endeavor — and why he’s calling it his last.
USA’s Covert Affairs may be approaching its season finale Nov. 21, but star Hill Harper certainly isn’t slowing down. The 47-year-old Harvard Law School alumnus just released his fifth book, Letters To An Incarcerated Brother, and recently paid a visit to HollywoodLife.com to discuss why it’s so important to spread its message to as many readers as possible.
“This is the book that I’m most proud of, to be quite honest,” Hill told us. “I put so much research and so much work into it. … All the other books have been New York Times best-sellers, and have led me to this book.”
“I want this book to, hopefully, start a national conversation about the incarceration crisis that we’re experiencing in this country,” Hill explained, adding that the intended viewers extend beyond people currently in prison. “It’s written for all people to read, and even people who find themselves in a prison that’s metaphorical … not built with iron bars.”
Content aside, we were most fascinated by Hill’s website (www.incarceratedbrother.com) which he set up as a way for people to gift the book to people in prison. You can even search for specific prisons, state by state, a process Hill explains more in depth in our video interview.
Watch our chat with Hill for more information about his new book, and how you can help spread its message far and wide.
