It appears that ‘Saturday Night Live’ crossed a line with their skit on Nov. 16, according to Kanye. A source close to the singer revealed that Kanye is so angry they were dissed, he may never return to the show.
Kanye West is not impressed with Saturday Night Live. HollywoodLife.com broke the news on VH1’s The Gossip Table on Nov. 18 that he doesn’t find the skit at all funny — and he’s actually pretty angry they mocked him and fiancée, Kim Kardashian.
Kanye West: ‘SNL’ Skit Was Not Funny
“Kanye was not happy about being dissed, he doesn’t think any of it is funny,” a source close to the singer told HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “He considers them to be one of the most influential couples that has ever existed. He might just refuse to go back on SNL ever again.”
In the skit, “Waking Up with Kimye,” Jay Pharaoh and Nasim Pedrad took on the roles of Kim and Kanye, completely mocking them — the whole thing based around the word “genius,” which Kanye uses frequently.
They made Kim out to be a less-than-smart woman who is basically controlled by Kanye. They even take jabs at Kanye dressing Kim, saying, “Kim is wearing a Givenchy piece that she initially didn’t want to wear, so I had to put her in it while she was asleep.”
Lady Gaga, the host of the evening, joined the segment as an Apple employee who worked at the Genius Bar. Kanye, naturally, told her that she didn’t deserve the title of “genius,” and that he and Kim did — they even threw in an “I am God” statement. It was a little harsh, but actually pretty funny!
Plus, Gaga absolutely loved making fun of the couple, HollywoodLife.com learned exclusively.
Lady Gaga: Making Fun Of Kanye West Was ‘Therapeutic’
“One of Lady Gaga’s favorite skits to do was the one making fun of Kanye and Kim,” a source close to the “Applause” singer said. “She has had some bad blood with Kanye when their tour back in 2009 didn’t get off the ground due to the hate people had for his Taylor Swift stunt.”
Gaga wanted to stick up for Taylor, of course — go girl power!
“She hasn’t really forgiven him for that, so to make fun of him years later was therapeutic,” the source added.
So, HollywoodLifers — do you think Kanye has a right to be mad? Or do you think the skit was funny? Let us know!
