Rob is in hot water after his staffers asked him to resign on Nov. 13 for allegedly bringing female prostitutes to the office among other reported incidents, like making lewd comments to female staffers. He also previously admitted to smoking crack. Read on for more details!
In May, Toronto mayor Rob Ford was accused of using crack cocaine and media outlets claimed that they had it on camera. On Nov. 5, he admitted that he actually has used the drug in the past. Rob faced another very unflattering accusation on Nov. 13, when his council voted for him to take a leave of absence after new court documents were released that said he brought escorts to the office.
Rob Ford: Accused Of Bringing Prostitutes To His Office
A court document released on Nov. 13 (more than 500 pages long) detailed all of Rob’s inappropriate behavior. One anonymous staff member alleged that Rob was verbally inappropriate with a female staff member, according to CNN.
Another staff member saw a woman who could have been a prostitute in Rob’s office.
George Christopoulos, Robert’s former press secretary, claimed multiple women dropped by to see Rob at work, “and told staffers that they have smoked a joint with the mayor on the street outside of the bar.”
Robert made a statement on Nov. 14 regarding all of the claims against him. “The allegations are 100% lies.”
Rob Ford: Mayor Of Toronto Admits To Smoking Crack
“Yes, I have smoked crack cocaine,” Rob, 44, said to reporters who gathered at Toronto City Hall on Nov. 5, CBC News in Toronto reported. ”But, no — do I? Am I an addict, no? Have I tried it? Um, probably in one of my drunken stupors, probably approximately about a year ago.”
His admission comes on the heels of yet another accusation; on Oct. 31, Toronto’s police chief announced that a video had been recovered of Rob smoking a crack pipe.
After his admission, reporters asked if he had been lying all this time when he was questioned.
“I wasn’t lying. You didn’t ask the correct questions,” he said. “No I’m not an addict and no, I do not do drugs. I made mistakes in the past and all I can do is apologize, but it is what it is and I can’t change the past. Yes, I’ve made mistakes, all I can do now is apologize and move on. I can apologize to my family, my friends, my colleagues and the people of this great city.”
