The Disney Channel star, 15, poses with her pup Cujo in a new campaign, and HollywoodLife.com has your exclusive first look!
China Anne McClain is proving that even the tiniest of A.N.T.s can make a big difference in the world. The star of Disney Channel’s A.N.T. Farm is the latest face of Peta‘s youth division, Peta2, and her new campaign — obtained exclusively by HollywoodLife.com — aims to stress the responsibilities that come with welcoming a new dog or cat into your life.
“You have to really pay attention to them and take them to the vet,” says China, who poses with her adorable pup Cujo in the campaign photo. “Get your dog spayed or neutered,” McClain says. “That’s one of the first things that you should go and do.”
(Spay and neuter your pets? Bob Barker would agree!)
Why Spaying & Neutering Pets Is So Important
In fact, people not having their pets spayed or neutered is actually creating more problems in our country than many Americans realize. Here’s what the organization has to say about the issue:
“Every year in the U.S., 6 to 8 million lost, abandoned, or unwanted dogs and cats enter animal shelters, and more than half of them must be euthanized because there are not enough good homes for them. The solution is prevention through always spaying and neutering.”
Of course, China is just one of many celebs that has teamed up with Peta2. Former spokestars include: Lea Michele, Kellan Lutz, Pink, Cody Simpson, Daniella Monet, Ke$ha and China’s A.N.T. Farm co-star, Sierra McCormick.
