The top 12 contestants on the ‘X Factor’ brought us back to the ’80s tonight — big hair included — and one act was eliminated! Keep reading for all the details.
Proving that the ’80s are always in style, The X Factor‘s final 12 contestants channeled Madonna, Pat Benatar and more on the competition show’s Nov. 13 episode. Read on for HollywoodLife.com‘s take on the evening, including our favorite acts!
‘The X Factor’: Top 12 Perform ’80s Hits
Tonight’s show started on a sad note, when Carlos Guevara got voted off! Last week, he performed “What’s Going On,” and it left the judges asking themselves that very same question. “I thought it was cool for your voice,” Kelly Rowland told him, “but you could have done better.” That was our signal that he would be the first to go!
Lillie McCloud (one of our favorites) is a great way to get the party started, and she wowed us yet again with her rendition of “Can’t Nobody,” and Paulina Rubio even called her a goddess! No surprise there.
Carlito Olivero sang a fast-paced version of “The Rhythm Is Gonna Get You,” and Simon Cowell may have sealed his fate by remarking that “if” he stays, he needs to take more control over his performance. Yikes!

Rion Paige was a little shaky on her performance of “We Belong” — maybe because she’s too young to be a child of the ’80s! But she still shined overall, and had the judges smiling.
Sweet Suspense gave a totally sexy and sassy rendition of “Mickey,” and I loved their vocal arrangement, even if their dance moves were a little clumsy at times.
Tim Olstad gave a bit of a flat performance (not my favorite performer, I’ll admit) when he sang “Against All Odds.” Maybe if he had a spicier song it would have been more peppy.
I’m giving the golden star of the evening to little miss Khaya Cohen, whose performance of “Borderline” clearly blew the judges away. Her vocals were stunning and she totally owned the stage — rocking fingerless gloves and big hair the whole time!
Restless Road performed a rendition of “Footloose,” and did a great job, even though they admitted to being nervous.
Rachel Potter totally belted out “Alone,” and had Demi saying she could win the competition!
Ellona Santiago had to bring all her confidence to sing “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” but she definitely had the pipes to pull it off nicely!
Josh Levi, who was brought back last week after originally getting eliminated, knew he had to pull out all the stops tonight to prove his worth. He performed “Straight Up,” and totally killed it!
Jeff Gutt rocked out during his performance of “Dying In Your Arms Tonight,” but the judges, especially Simon, want to see him get out of his “comfort zone.”
The ever-adorable Alex & Sierra ended the night with a jazzed-up rendition of “Addicted To Love,” which wasn’t their best — they’ve definitely sang better.
