Kendall Jenner — pop star? Kris Jenner is reportedly banking on Kendall’s music career to keep the Kardashian empire alive, and has already reached out to the biggest names in music to make her daughter the next Selena Gomez.
Kendall Jenner, 18, is certainly no stranger to the limelight, but can she replicate her reality success in the recording studio? Momager Kris Jenner, 58, sure thinks so — the mother of six has reached out to Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds in an attempt to make Kendall the next big pop star, according to Star magazine, and even thinks her daughter’s talent will eclipse Selena Gomez. Ouch!
Kendall Jenner: Bigger Than Selena?
Whatever Kris touches turns to gold, and now she’s hoping that her Midas touch will affect Kendall’s voice. The doting mom is convinced that Kendall is the next pop sensation, and when Keeping Up With The Kardashians ends its run in 2015, the sprawling family’s matriarch plans on marketing Kendall as the next Selena.
At this point everyone has watched Kendall work a runway, but her singing voice remains a mystery. Though according to Star‘s sources, Kris doesn’t really mind that her daughter can’t belt a tune — the bucks will roll in whether the talent is there or not. “Kris isn’t concerned about the fact that Kendall can’t really sing, and jokes that pop stars lip-sync anyway,” said a source close to the family.
The Kardashian matriarach makes a decent point, and we can’t help but wonder whether or not her plan will actually work. Kris has reached out to BFF and super-producer Babyface for a possible record deal, and with Kris’ star power and crazy connections, we might just be in line for tickets to the next Kendall Jenner show in no time! That is, unless it’s sold out like Selena’s.
Oh, and as for the leggy model herself, she thinks her mom is “nuts” for the idea. Don’t knock it ’til you try it, Kendall!
Kendall Jenner: Should Kris Just Let Her Be A Teen?
Despite the glitz and glamour that comes with growing up Jenner, it isn’t all fun and games for Kendall. In a candid interview with People, Kendall revealed that it hasn’t been easy growing up in the spotlight, and that her famous older sisters can’t relate to what she and younger sister Kylie have dealt with as teens.
“They lived [life] normally,” she said. “Then once they were already grown up, they went through what we’re now going through… They got to live their teen years in a very different way than we did.”
Yikes! Maybe Kendall could use some solid R&R before becoming the next Selena. But what do you think, HollywoodLifers? Will Kendall be bigger than Selena?
