NFL Player Dwayne Bowe Arrested For Marijuana Possession & Speeding

Dwayne, 29, a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, was arrested on Nov. 12 for speeding and marijuana possession! Was he released from jail?

Dwayne Bowe was pulled over in Riverside, Miss., on Nov. 10 for speeding, and then police smelled marijuana from outside his Audi A-8 after they approached the vehicle. This happened just as his team’s bye week ended. The Chiefs are now gearing up to play a huge game against the Broncos on Nov. 17! Keep reading for more details.

“While questioning the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana from inside of the vehicle. The officer then requested the driver and two passengers to get out of the vehicle,” Riverside police told CBSSports. “Once out of the vehicle the officer explained to the driver, who owned the vehicle, that he was a K-9 Officer and that the dog would alert to an illegal substance.

The officer found two containers in the vehicle that had 6.6 grams and 3.8 grams of marijuana. The k-9 also found a container that held 4.2 grams of marijuana.

Dwayne was pulled over for going 13 MPH over the legal speed limit of 35 MPH. Dwayne and his passenger, George A. Thompson, were both taken to jail.

Dwayne Bowe: Will Appear In Court On Dec. 18

Dwayne posted a $750 bond and will go to court on Dec. 18. George was released on $500 bond.

The Chiefs were made aware of Dwayne’s arrest but had no comment, the outlet reported. There’s also no word on whether or not he’ll be playing against the Denver Broncos on Nov. 17.

Dwayne was suspended for four games in 2009 for taking performance-enhancing drugs.
