It looks like even the competition is loving Jacquie Lee and Matthew Schuler on ‘The Voice.’ Team Christina’s talented crooners have dominated the live shows since day one, and Blake Shelton is finally starting the feel the heat.
The Voice has always been about finding that next voice, but competition between the coaches is a huge component in what keeps fans coming back for more. So when HollywoodLife hit The Voice‘s big elimination show last night, we just had to ask — is Blake Shelton shaking in his cowboy boots over Team Christina’s talent? Find out what he had to say below.
Team Christina ‘Irritates The Hell’ Out of Blake
Team Christina faced a huge loss last night when Josh Logan was sent packing, but her two best horses in the race — Jacquie and Matthew — are still going strong. Very strong. HollywoodLife.com met up with fellow coach Blake backstage after the show, and he confirmed our suspicions that everyone who sits in a swivel chair is beginning to sweat Team XTina.
“Anyone being honest would have to say Christina [is the biggest competition],” Blake said. “She has two people that are dominating, and that is impressive. How the hell that happened irritates the hell out of me!”
… But Has She Peaked Too Soon?
However talented Jacquie and Matthew may be, Blake still feels that peaking too early may hinder their chances at total victory.
“I’ll tell you one thing,” he continued. “You never want to peak too early in this competition. People are looking for the under-the-radar person and underdog, and as a coach I am hoping [Christina] doesn’t have someone break out at the right time.”
Blake has a point — when voters think a contestant is safe, they’ll often vote for an underdog who appears to need help in the voting department. Situations like this have sent home many talented front-runners in the past, so let’s hope Jacquie and Matthew don’t fall victim to the “peaking too soon” curse.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Does Christina have the best team?
