A new report explains that in a meeting with Child Protective Services, Brooke Mueller agreed to have her twin sons tested for fetal alcohol syndrome for the first time.
Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller‘s 4-year-old twin sons Bob and Max will reportedly be tested for fetal and drug alcohol syndrome, according to Radar Online. The Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services demanded “Brooke sign off on having the boys tested and assessed for fetal drug and alcohol syndrome,” according to a Radar Online source close to the custody case.
Fetal alcohol syndrome is a medical condition which can occur when a pregnant mother drinks alcohol or takes drugs while carrying the baby. Symptoms include heart defects, delayed physical and/or mental development, and muscle coordination.
During her pregnancy with the twins, Brooke, checked into rehab twice, allegedly for substance abuse including addiction to crystal meth. “The twins were born seven weeks prematurely and Max had to stay in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit because of a heart condition,” according to Radar.
“The good news is that they will now be properly tested, and monitored,” Radar’s source explained. “It will be crucial that DCFS follows up and follows through with whatever the testing reveals. The boys’ lives literally depend on it.”
