Did anyone doubt for even a second that Katy would bring the house down? The star became a human maypole and even flew during her “Unconditionally” performance at the MTV EMAs.
Whether you love her vocals or not, it’s hard to deny that Katy Perry, 29, knows how to put on a damn good show. The beautiful brunette stunned the crowd at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome with a gravity-defying performance of her hit single “Unconditionally” at the MTV European Music Awards on Nov. 10.
Katy Perry At The EMAs: A Diva Takes Flight
Katy began her performance demurely draped in rows of fabric, though as the song went on, it became clear that “human maypole” Katy was about to reveal something pretty spectacular. Her vocals were on-point, but it was her theatrics that stole the show — as Katy’s dancers unwrapped her from below, an insane bejeweled bodysuit emerged from underneath the colorful draped fabric.
Of course, the fun didn’t stop there. Within seconds, Katy had taken off — Miley may have “gone to space” with her “We Can’t Stop” performance, but it was Katy who actually took it a step further and flew. Your move, Miley!
Katy Perry At The EMAs: Best Dressed?
Katy’s bejeweled bodysuit was definitely a standout amongst all of the performance looks we saw during the show. Miley’s gorgeous white number during “Wrecking Ball” was also a standout, but Katy’s look was a Gaga-esque work of art. She also looked amazing earlier in the night as she walked the red carpet, rocking a classic, retro-inspired mint dress and pastel pink heels. It was a little demure for Katy, so we weren’t surprised when she debuted a crazier look during her performance.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Did Katy steal the show?
