A new report claims that Jaimie is now one of the last actresses being considered to play the most iconic female comic book star — Wonder Woman! And after seeing her steal the ‘Thor’ movies as Sif, we think there’s only one right choice — it has to be her!
You may have been only recently introduced to Jaimie Alexander when she showed up to the Los Angeles premiere of Thor: The Dark World on Nov. 4 in a daring, empowered, butt cheek-baring dress, but believe us — she’s more than just a red carpet sensation. So with the news that Wonder Woman — the most recognizable female comic book character ever — may be making an appearance in the upcoming epic Batman vs. Superman, we’re putting our foot down and demanding that Jaimie be cast.
Jaimie Alexander: Why She’s Perfect For Wonder Woman
Anyone who’s seen Thor and its sequel, Thor: The Dark World, knows we’re where coming from. In those movies, Jaimie plays Sif, who is basically Thor’s best friend (well, it’s a little more complicated than that, but let’s not get off-topic). She’s a warrior who can wield a sword as well as she looks in battle gear. And both of those things — strength and beauty — are what Jaimie could bring to the role of Wonder Woman.
Whoever plays the Amazing Amazon has to be both a tenacious warrior and a fierce beauty. And because Jaimie — as Sif — puts a sword to Loki’s throat like no other, but also makes Natalie Portman‘s character, Jane Foster, feel threatened because of how hot she is and her chemistry with Thor, we think she possesses this duality more than any other candidate (such as Olga Kurylenko, who has also been rumored to be a possibility, according to Star Pulse).
And all you have to do is take one look at that dress she wore on Nov. 4 to see that she has the guts it’ll take to play Wonder Woman.
Jaimie Alexander Is A Modern-Day Lynda Carter
Finally, we’re not traditionalists who believe in casting someone just because they look like the original, but even we have to admit that Jaimie is a dead ringer for Lynda Carter, who made Wonder Woman a household name with the ’70s series, Wonder Woman. Both ladies have those dark, Amazonian features and a perfect blend of empowerment, sexiness, and elegance.
“If the fans want it and there’s a strong enough desire for it, it will happen,” Jaimie told Total Film about possibly being Wonder Woman in the Man of Steel sequel. Well guess what, Jaimie — we want it.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you agree that Jaimie is perfect for the role of Wonder Woman? Let us know!
