They are never, ever, getting back together. It’s not just a Taylor Swift song — it’s a new mantra for the ‘Teen Mom’ stars! The former couple told camera crews that they are definitely not rekindling the romance, they’re just coming together for their daughter.
If you were hoping for an Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley reunion, you might be severely disappointed by the latest news out of their relationship. The parents were spotted hanging out at a Panera Bread food chain in Anderson, Indiana on Nov. 7 with their 4-year-old daughter, Leah — their first public family outing since Amber’s release from prison — but Amber insisted that they are not back on the road to coupledom.
Amber Portwood & Gary Shirley Not Getting Back Together
Amber said that she and Gary were just out enjoying a day together for the sake of their daughter. “Being there for Boo Boo,” she told TMZ cameras of the meal with her daughter. When photographers asked Amber if she and Gary were getting back together, Amber simply replied, “no.” Gary couldn’t help but let out a laugh at the suggestion, before giving a more definitive “hell no!”
Gary and Amber’s turbulent relationship had many volatile moments — most of which were documented on Teen Mom, including Amber’s 2010 arrest for attacking Gary on camera — but it is great to see that they were able to come together and be civil for the sake of Leah’s happiness.
Amber Portwood Reunites With Daughter Leah
Amber saw Leah for the first time in months on Nov. 4, on the evening of her release from Rockville Correctional Facility in Rockville, Indiana. There, she had served 17 months out of her original 5 year sentence, stemming from drug possession and parole violating in 2011. Since entering jail, Amber has gotten sober and is attempting to gain joint custody of her daughter.
What do YOU think, HollyMoms? Were you secretly hoping Amber and Gary would get back together?
