The ‘Teen Mom 3’ girls are pushing boundaries and ‘taking chances’ — with their parents, guys, AND babies. Find out what happened on the Nov. 4 episode when the girls dared to take risks in their relationships.
Briana DeJesus goes behind her mother’s back to hang out with a guy she’s been talking to — even though she knows it will come with consequences from her family. Her mom thinks that the new guy is just like her ex Devoin Austin, but Briana just doesn’t see it — until he lets her down.
Briana DeJesus Sneaks Out On A Date
Briana’s mom and sister Brittany don’t approve of Briana dating Jacob because they know about his bad reputation, but Briana goes behind both of their backs to arrange a date with him. She calls him to tell him they will meet up “on the down low.” Briana’s friend Kanisha even offers to take her to her ice cream date with Jacob, so they turn it into a group thing! Not only does Jacob bring his friend Brandon along, but Briana brings her daughter Nova to meet the crew. Even though the date is a total non-event, Briana is giddy about hanging out with Jacob and wants to keep “hanging out without anyone knowing,” which is what she prefers to call the sneaking around.
Briana’s friends cover her for another group date, and they all go mini golfing with Jacob. Briana seems to enjoy the time out of the house more than she does the actual activities. When she thinks about getting more serious, she realizes she can’t bring her baby and friends along for everything, and will need to learn how to combine different responsibilities in her life. Briana thinks all is going well until she sees online that he’s talking to another girl too. She wants to go to her mom to talk, but she doesn’t want to admit to going behind her back to begin with. She goes to Kanisha with her woes, and she opens up about how being rid of Devoin has changed her philosophy on relying on people.
Katie Yeager Throws Coffee At Joey Maes
Katie Yeager and her ex-fiance Joey Maes have split after Katie found out he was seeing someone else, so she is staying at her dad’s house. A friend sent Katie a picture of the girl he was dating — Brigette — and she has a kid of her own. Katie agrees to let Molli spend the weekend with her dad after their breakup, but Joey is not ready to compromise about it, refusing to let Katie come breastfeed Molli during his weekend with the baby. When Katie drops Molli off with Joey, she throws coffee on him. Joey takes Molli out to watch him dirt bike race with his new girlfriend and her daughter, Kynlynn.
Katie doesn’t fare well during her first weekend without Molli — but Joey doesn’t do much better on his first weekend fully responsible for her. Katie’s biggest obstacle is her own self-criticism, and she knows it. She starts to worry what her life will be like without Joey — but she logically knows that Joey adds nothing to her self-worth.
Alex Sekella Extends The Olive Branch To Family For Arabella’s First Birthday Party
Alex Sekella hasn’t heard from Matt McCann since he got kicked out of the halfway house he was staying at. She wonders if he will be able to come around for Arabella‘s first birthday party. While she wants him to be part of the occasion, Alex’s friends and family think that he would just be a downer at the party. Alex decides to invite Matt to spend Arabella’s actual birthday with her, and skip the drama that would be having him at the party. Alex also uses Arabella’s birthday as an excuse to get close to her own dad again. She reveals that her dad hasn’t been supportive of her having a child so young, but she wants to re-establish a connection with him. Alex takes it as a good sign that her dad is willing to come out to Arabella’s party.
Arabella has an adorable birthday party. Alex dad shows up to the party. “I’m still not very happy about it,” he admits about what he thinks of Alex having a baby as a teen. “You’re 18 years old and doing the job load of someone in their 30s,” he tells her. While he still harbors some anger about the situation, he seems mostly concerned about her — and relieved that she’s managing to do it all and stay afloat. Arabella’s birthday party went so well, but she still has lingering disappointment that Matt didn’t contact her about spending the next day with her. He misses out on her day, prompting Alex to realize how many of her milestones he won’t be a part of.
Mackenzie Douthit Pushes The Boundaries With Her Family
Mackenzie Douthit hasn’t spoken to her parents after getting into a fight with them about taking Gannon out late. She focuses her energy into practicing for a cheerleading competition. Her friends urge her to go home and look after her son and patch things up with her mom. The whole family feels like they are walking on eggshells about how to set down rules with Mackenzie without having her storm out with Gannon and never come back. Mackenzie feels like she has to make her own mistakes in order to learn, but she gets defensive about everything her mom says. Mackenzie’s mom thinks that in order to grow her relationship with Josh McKee, the family has to spend time as a functional unit. Josh agrees to go to the lake to ride jet skis with Mackenzie’s whole family — so that he’s not just picking up his kid in the middle of the night.
Mackenzie’s family tried to have some fun with Josh — and while opening up isn’t exactly his thing, they all seem to have a fun day! As Gannon’s first birthday approaches, Mackenzie’s family encourages the pair to make the next year their best ever.
