‘Witches Of East End’: Freya Meets Elyse — Season 1 Episode 5 Recap – Hollywood Life

‘Witches Of East End’ Recap: Freya Battles A Shadow From Dash’s Past

This week's episode put the 'ex' in 'hex,' as Freya was forced to confront the last girl who came between Dash & Killian. The Beauchamp ladies were visited by the ghosts of lovers past on Witches of East End's Nov. 3 episode, one good -- Ingrid (Rachel Boston) conjured Adam's (Jason George) spirit to help cope with his death -- and one very, very evil. The worst part? Getting rid of the other-worldly troublemaker also meant leaving Ingrid devastated.

Her eventual goodbye with Adam was heartbreaking, even more so than when he literally died in her arms in the rain last week, but at least she finally got some closure. And hey, this being Witches of East End and all, maybe this isn’t the last we’ll see of him. (Rules, shmules!)

Seriously, though, hats off to Rachel and Jason; that last scene reduced me to a messy puddle of a human. I always thought Rachel was at her best when she was spouting funny one-liners, but I’m also loving her serious side.

The Hex & The Ex

As if Freya’s (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) love life wasn’t complicated enough already, Dash’s (Eric Winter) ex-fiancée Elyse stopped by East End with a big surprise for his new squeeze: She’s dead! Needless to say, Killian (Daniel di Tomasso) was more than a little surprised to see his co-worker shouting at… no one.

Apparently Elyse’s spirit “piggy-backed” off Ingrid’s spell for Adam — Wendy (Mädchen Amick) has the best way of explaining witchcraft — to exact her revenge, only Dash wasn’t the Garner brother she had in her sights.

A nasty shock sent Killian to the hospital, and even though he almost died, his feelings for Freya are more intense — and more obvious — than ever.

#FreeJoanna

In legal news, Maura Thatcher was officially discredited as a witness in her husband’s murder, basically exonerating Joanna (Julia Ormond), but when the poor woman started to lose her mind, Joanna lashed out at Wendy for making it happen.

The sisters eventually patched things up, even gossiping about Joanna and Harrison’s roll in the hay — he’s huge, apparently — before taking care of their little Maura problem once and for all.
