Even though the ‘Glee’ actress is still grieving the tragic death of boyfriend Cory, she put on a brave face and posed for ‘Elle’s’ December issue — and she opened up about how she’s surviving during this hard time.
On Sept. 21, Lea Michele tweeted a sneak peek of a cover shoot for one of her “all time favorite magazines” and seemed to be happy about working and staying busy in the months following her boyfriend Cory Monteith‘s sudden death. And now we finally know that the photo shoot was for Elle magazine’s December cover!

We’re so happy to see Lea smiling and looking gorgeous on the cover! It’s the first magazine cover shoot she’s done since Cory’s death, and it must have been hard to be focused while she’s still grieving.
In the interview, Lea revealed what life without Cory is like. She the magazine she wants to stay strong for him.
“Now that I’m in this position, you can choose to rise, which is what I’m going to try to do,” she confessed. “It’s very hard. And you have to be very strong to come out of this alive, but I think by doing the best for myself, by showing that you don’t have to lose yourself, maybe someone else will feel some sort of strength or comfort.”

The star also revealed the surprising person she turned to for support: her Glee co-star Kate Hudson! “I called her and said, ‘I don’t know where I’m going to go because my house is swarmed [with reporters.]‘” Lea revealed. “She was like, ‘Oh, you’re going to stay at my house.’ Like it was nothing,” Lea reveals. “She let my family stay there, and any of my friends. She made sure that in the refrigerator were my favorite juices. I’ll never really be able to thank her, truly, for what she did for me.”
