If you’re looking for the perfect fall movie to snuggle up to, check out ‘About Time.’ Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson team up for the rom-com and deliver some serious laughs — and you might also want to stock up on the tissues.
Scrap those weekend plans. If you loved 2003’s Love, Actually, you’re gonna want to catch the latest rom-com to hit theaters, About Time (out on Nov. 1). About Time finally gives the nerd the chance to hook up with a big-screen beauty. And oh yeah, the film’s leading man also gets to time travel — and you get to join in on the fun.
‘About Time': What To Expect From The Fun Flick
Set in London, About Time tells the story of an awkward guy with some incredible luck — he can time travel! Tim, played by Domhnall Gleeson, makes the awesome discovery at the tender age of 21, when his sweet father (Bill Nighy) sits him down for “the talk.”
While it’s not the talk you’re probably thinking of, it is a pretty rewarding one. His old man lets him know he can’t “kill Hitler or shag Helen of Troy,” but he can get to experience a second chance on any day he’s lived.
Like most twenty-somethings, it only takes a few time-traveling trips before he starts seeing red — he wants to fall in love!
The dorky yet incredibly charming Tim isn’t quite the ladies man though, and he can’t exactly nab the girl of his dreams. But cue Rachel McAdams, who plays Mary, a beautiful yet insecure girl! The pair meet for the first time in a dark dinner scene, but the sparks start flying anyways.
Things begin to turn around for Tim as he and Mary fall more and more in love and embark on a beautiful relationship. However, the main conflict of the film is the most fun part. Tim struggles with balancing how often he travels back in time — should he head back if every event doesn’t go his way? Or should he learn to live in the present day entirely — right the first time?
You’ll fall in love with these characters, over and over again.
The movie isn’t only about falling in love — it’s about a family bond, growing up, and realizing the most important things in life . . . and yes, there are a few super steamy love scenes. We think it’s about time (sorry, we had to) you check out this fun fall flick!
