1D fans, get excited! The boys have released a preview clip from their “Story of My Life” music video and they are looking delicious! With three days to go til the video hits the screens of our TVs, laptops and cell phones, they couldn’t have picked a better way to pump people up for the official release.
“Story of My Life,” the second single off One Direction‘s new album Midnight Memories (in stores Nov. 25), took iTunes by storm when it was released on Oct. 28, immediately snagging the top spot on the singles chart in the US. Now the boys are building the anticipation for the song’s video release on Nov. 3. 1D has gifted us with a major Halloween treat, releasing a snippet of the upcoming video as a mini tease of what’s to come. It’s only 16 seconds, but we can’t wait for more!
One Direction’s New Video: 16 Seconds of Handsome Faces
The boys of 1D — Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson — have always delivered with fun and memorable videos, and it looks like “Story of My Life” will be no exception. As an acoustic ballad, the song is a far cry from the upbeat and danceable “Best Song Ever,” and from what we can see in the teaser, the video will also take a more artsy and emotional tone.
The clip features the acoustic intro to the song, with brief flashes of each of the guys looking somber and pensive. There are photos hanging on a clothes line and at one point, Zayn, looking supremely sexy in the scruff he’s now sporting, seems to be arranging photos on the wall. Looks like a photo theme, ladies and gentlemen! This definitely has the potential to be tear-jerking.
One Direction’s Story Behind ‘Story’
When songwriters Jamie Scott, John Ryan, and Julian Bunetta first started brainstorming “Story of My Life,” their intention was to do something different and exceptionally special. When they sat down to write the song, Jamie explained to MTV News that their goal was to “Write a song the guys can really dig and take this record to a new place.”
They certainly succeeded because as soon as the boys heard the track, “They freaked out and finished the song with us,” Jamie added. And if this preview is any indication, we’ll have something to freak about soon too.
What do you think of the preview Hollywood Lifers? Are you pumped for the video?
