So horrific! A mother and her four young children were stabbed to death with a butcher knife in their Brooklyn home. Mingdong Chen, the victims’ 25-year-old cousin, was arrested on Oct. 26 in connection with the slayings.
Qiao Zhen Li, 37, and her four young children — ages 9, 7, 5, and 1 — were found dead in their Sunset Park, Brooklyn, NY apartment on Oct. 26. Police believe that the family’s cousin Mingdong Chen, 25, fatally stabbed all five family members with a “meat cleaver” device before attempting to flee.
Mother & 4 Children Stabbed To Death In Brooklyn Home
A frantic mother reportedly placed several phone calls in a row trying to locate her husband after she noticed that his cousin from Chicago, who was staying with her family for just a few days, was acting erratically. Before she was able to reach him, Chen allegedly turned savagely violent.
William Zhuo, 1; Amy Zhuo, 7; and Linda Zhuo, 9 were found dead at the scene.
Qiao Zhen Li and her son Kevin Zhuo, 5 were rushed to the hospital, but died there. The victims all sustained wounds to their necks and torso areas, according to police reports. The bodies were “cut and butchered” by a weapon described by police as a “meat cleaver,” reported The New York Times.
The 1-year-old boy was reportedly gruesomely decapitated.
Chen had reportedly stayed with the family on prior occasions without incident.
Cousin Arrested After Slaying Of 5 Family Members
Chen was charged “with five counts of murder. He was also charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest,” reported The New York Times. “Authorities said he had attacked an officer in the 66th Precinct station house while his arrest was being processed.”
