The retired WNEW-FM radio DJ allegedly chatted online with a woman he believed was a mother of a 7-year-old girl for a full year before attempting to meet up to share a sexual experience with her at his US Virgin Islands home. Read the messages that Dave allegedly exchanged with the woman he thought was the girl’s mom.
DJ Dave Herman, 77, allegedly sent shocking online chat messages over the course of a year to a woman named “Kris,” who he believed was the mother of a 7-year-old girl named “Lexi” that he was hoping to share sexual experiences with. Dave was arrested on Oct. 24 after he attempted to arrange to meet the little girl at his St. Croix vacation home — and learned that the “mom” was really working undercover with police.
Dave Herman Radio DJ Arrested — Read Creepy Messages Sent To Lure Child
Dave reportedly believed that he was corresponding with a 36-year-old single mother of a 7-year-old girl. Using the Yahoo! chat room screen name “dave121482,” Dave allegedly told the woman that he “lusted” after girls of that age, reported The New York Post.
During an online conversation, on Nov. 27, 2012, “Herman asked whether Kris was sexually active with her daughter or if she was interested in people who are sexually active with children. He also gave her his cell phone number and his e-mail address and sent a picture of himself to Kris using Yahoo Messenger,” authorities said, as reported by NJ.com.
“Age 6 is the perfect time to start her being loved that way,” authorities allege that Dave wrote to “Kris.” “I find girls that age incredibly sexy, soft, and their innocence is also a huge turn on for me.”
“Herman promised he would not hurt ‘Lexi’ though he might have to be ‘forceful’ with her,” according to the official Homeland Security report written by Special Agent Mark Lubischer. “Herman suggested that they could give ‘Lexi’ some alcohol to relax her.”
Police also allege that Dave made a phone call to “Kris,” on Sept. 30, 2013 during which he “discussed how he wanted to ‘break’ Lexi’s hymen and also stated that he was looking to do a lot of ‘oral’ with her,” according to Lubischer. “Herman booked and paid for a flight from LaGuardia Airport to St. Croix, for Kris and Lexi for travel on Oct. 24, and gave Lexi’s birth date as Sept. 13, 2006,” according to the complaint, as reported by NJ.com.
Dave was arrested at the St. Croix airport by Homeland Security. Though the little girl is fictional, he was charged “on the criminal count of attempting to transport a minor in interstate commerce with the intent she engage in sexual activity,” said police. He faces 10 years to life in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
