The iconic WNEW-FM radio DJ and ‘Rock And Roll Morning Show’ was arrested in New York on Oct. 24. Police allege that Dave attempted to arrange the transport of a young child from New York to his Virgin Islands vacation home to give her alcohol and engage in sexual activity with her.
DJ Dave Herman, 77, was arrested by Homeland Security after he attempted to arrange a sexual experience with “Lexi,” a young girl he thought was 7 years old. He allegedly chatted with the girl’s mother online in attempts to arrange an encounter with the child at his US Virgin Islands vacation home. Dave was busted when the “mom” he was chatting with turned out to be working undercover with police.

Dave “was arrested Thursday [Oct. 24] when he flew from La Guardia Airport to St. Croix to meet the mom and child — and was instead met by special agents of the departments of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement,” according to The New York Post.
Dave believed that he was chatting with a 7-year-old girl’s mother, “Kris,” online, and he allegedly tried to arrange to have the girl brought to his US Virgin Islands vacation home so he could have sex with her.
The woman he was talking to was actually working undercover with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the young girl was fictitious, authorities explained.

Using the handle “dave121482,” Dave allegedly told the woman that he “lusted” after girls of that age, reported The New York Post.
“Age 6 is the perfect time to start her being loved that way,” authorities claim Dave wrote. “I find girls that age incredibly sexy, soft, and their innocence is also a huge turn on for me.”
“Herman promised he would not hurt ‘Lexi’ though he might have to be ‘forceful’ with her,” according to the complaint written by Homeland Security Special Agent Mark Lubischer. “Herman suggested that they could give ‘Lexi’ some alcohol to relax her.”
Police also allege that Dave made a Sept. 30 phone call to “Kris,” during which he “discussed how he wanted to ‘break’ Lexi’s hymen and also stated that he was looking to do a lot of ‘oral’ with her,” according to Lubischer.
Dave will appear in St. Croix court on Oct. 25, 2013. He was charged “on the criminal count of attempting to transport a minor in interstate commerce with the intent she engage in sexual activity,” said police. If convicted, he faces 10 years to life in prison, and a $250,000 fine.
