The songstress selected a very interesting ensemble when she stepped out to celebrate the launch of her new album — but was her look futuristic look fun or way too far out? VOTE.
Katy Perry celebrated the release of her new album, Prism, on Oct. 22 when she took the stage at the iHeartRadio Theater in Burbank, California for a special performance and Q&A with Mario Lopez — what better way to launch a new album than with a concert in front of your fans? The 28-year-old never fails to show up in something interesting, and her performance outfit was no exception — but did the seriously sheer dress turn heads for the right or wrong reasons?
Katy Perry’s ‘Prism’ Dress:
Katy selected a silver bodysuit which was totally visible under her clear plastic dress. As if there wasn’t already a lot going on with the look, she paired the get-up with a silver hologram belt, fishnet tights and bold white platforms — oh, and a purple lip!
While we usually enjoy Katy’s playful sense of style, there was simply too much going on with this particular look — and I wasn’t feeling the futuristic vibe or the purple lip. Unless she’s planning on dressing up like a long-lost member of the Jetsons I’m not quite sure why she selected this ensemble. Even if I was able to get past the way she styled the ensemble, the purple lip is one trend I just can’t support. However, given the fact that it was a costume for her performance, I’m not totally upset over her latest look — and I do appreciate the fact that Katy decided to wear a more fully-clothed ensemble. (I’m kind of feeling some fatigue over the bevy of scantily-clad stars we’ve been seeing lately).
What do you think? Are you kinda loving Katy’s galactic ensemble or is it a let down in your book?
