The Duchess looked divine in Alexander McQueen for her son’s special day, where she opted for an appropriate yet chic outfit for the christening — and she selected the very same designer who crafted her iconic wedding dress! Do you love Kate’s look? VOTE.
Kate Middleton looked nothing short of stunning when she arrived at St. James’ Palace on Oct. 23 for the christening of her 3-month old son, Prince George. While the 31-year-old royal often loves to recycle her outfits, on this occasion she broke out a brand new designer ensemble for the occasion — and it was perfect for the big day!
Kate Middleton’s Christening Dress:
While everyone is going gaga for Kate’s adorable little son, I’m more stunned by Kate’s amazing outfit for the special day — and I must confess that I couldn’t wait to see what she was going to wear! The Duchess left her Jenny Packham dresses at home for the special day, instead selecting a look by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen — who just so happens to be the designer who was behind her breathtaking wedding dress for the Royal Wedding!
The cream, long-sleeved ensemble featured ruffle detailing, peplum, and a matching fascinator, of course! Her fascinator was by Jane Taylor and it matched her outfit perfectly. Kate sported one of her signature blowouts, with her brown locks looking as glossy as ever. Nude pumps, eyeliner and gold earrings added to the dressed up ensemble — and there’s no denying the fact that her proud smile was her best accessory.
Kate’s little sister, Pippa Middleton, also opted for ivory when she attended the christening in a bespoke Suzannah Crabb coat. Along with Pippa, Prince William‘s stepmother, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, also stepped out in the same exact shade — and all three women matched Prince George’s christening gown! How sweet.
After the service, the Duchess will host a tea party in Clarence House to celebrate the momentous occasion. While his parents are used to the spotlight, the christening marks Prince George’s second public appearance. His first occurred just a day after his birth, on the steps of St. Mary’s Hospital.
Kate never fails to impress us when it comes to her fashion sense, and her christening outfit was no exception. Did you love her Alexander McQueen look as much as we did?
