How terrible! A teen boy was taken into police custody after the body of 24-year-old Danvers High School math teacher Colleen Ritzer was discovered by police near the school in the Boston suburb of Danvers, Mass.
Colleen Ritzer, 24, was found dead in the woods behind Danvers High School, where she was an algebra and geometry teacher. A 14-year-old boy is the sole suspect in the case, and is expected to be charged with the young teacher’s murder when he makes a court appearance on Oct. 23.

A 14-year-old boy is in police custody after a 24-year-old math teacher was found dead near Danvers High School in Danvers, Mass., a spokeswoman with the Essex County district attorney’s office said, as reported by CNN.
The body was identified to be Colleen Ritzer, who was a geometry and algebra teacher at Danvers High School. She taught freshmen and sophomores.
Police found her body in a wooded area behind the high school after blood was found on the night of Oct. 22. in a bathroom at the school, Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said, according to CNN.
Police did not immediately disclose whether or not the teen suspect was a student at the high school, or a student of Ms. Ritzer’s math classes.
The town of Danvers, Mass. closed all seven of its schools following this tragic discovery.

Ms. Ritzer was affectionately remembered by her students as an enthusiastic and warm teacher. She interacted with her students on Twitter, posting homework assignments and well-wishes for her students’ birthdays on the social media site.
