Besides fans, celebs are now voicing their opinions on who should play the lead male role in ’50 Shades of Grey.’ And Britney Spears thinks it should be James!
The casting clock is ticking for the Fifty Shades of Grey filmmakers after Charlie Hunnam dropped out, but pop princess Britney Spears, 31, has a novel suggestion. On Oct. 16, Britney said she wants hottie James Franco, 35, to take over the coveted role as Christian Grey.
Britney Spears Nominates James Franco As Christian Grey
Casting directors are getting plenty of input from fans and celebs alike on who should take fill in for Charlie, 33, in the Fifty Shades of Grey cast. The latest vote — for James — came from the famous “Work B**ch” singer in a recent interview with London’s KIIS FM.
“I love James Franco,” she said. “I think he’s really cool.” Hmm, well, James did sing a unique rendition of Britney’s “Everytime” in his movie Spring Breakers, so he’s obviously on her good side. We can’t disagree with Ms. Spears either — he’s got our vote, too!
Ian Somerhalder & More: Other Christian Grey Contenders
Fans have been voicing their support for Ian Somerhalder, 34, and Matt Bomer, 36, for quite some time — Matt’s fans even took to Twitter. Fifty Shades’ author E.L. James expressed her interest in Robert Pattinson for the part, but the 27-year-old Twilight star has reportedly been telling friends that he’s not being considered.
With the whirlwind of actors being thrown into the mix, who do you think would make the best choice to play Christian, HollywoodLifers?
