The ‘Little Couple’s journey to adopt their daughter from India was delayed for months, and Jen worried the whole time that her little girl’s health was not strong. Jen and Bill shared emotional moments from their adoption process on their show’s Oct. 15 episode.

Dr. Jennifer Arnold and Bill Klein just united with their 2-year-old daughter Zoey, on Oct. 14 — but their road to adoption was full of heartache and struggle. On The Little Couple, the pair opened up about their struggles — and showed the shocking moment when they got a phone call further delaying the adoption!

‘Little Couple’ Adoption Struggle: Zoey’s Health Scares Jen Arnold & Bill Klein

The couple anxiously awaited the moment they would get the go-ahead to bring their daughter home, but the process got very complicated when the adoption agency revealed that the couple would have to wait even longer before making the journey to India.  “I got a phone call from the adoption agency,” Bill told Jen. “It’s a bit of a delay.”

Jen and Bill looked absolutely devastated when they found out they would have to wait even longer to bring Zoey home. Even more so because they were excitedly preparing to take their son Will to India to meet her.

Adding even more concern into the process, Jen revealed that she was afraid of how slowly Zoey was developing. Zoey has dwarfism, and is very small, but Jen was especially concerned for her health when she saw the girl’s growth charts. At 2 years old, she was only 23 inches tall and 15 pounds, and Jen feared that “she may be undernourished.”

Luckily, Jen and Bill’s struggle to adopt their daughter finally paid off! They were able to travel to India and officially unite with their little girl on Oct. 14.

“We are thrilled to announce that we’ve picked up our beautiful daughter, Zoey, from India today,” the couple told People in a statement. ”Our hearts have grown in the past six months as new parents to William, and we are excited and overjoyed to welcome Zoey to our family and watch Will becoming a loving big brother.”

What do YOU think, HollyMoms? Are you glad that Bill and Jen opened up about their adoption struggles on the show?

I love your parenting style. Your both so warm and loving with your children. My heart could burst with joy seeing you two with your babies. Thank you for allowing us (the public) into your private life. Your an inspiration to the world with your love and patience (even if you don’t think so). I wish you all MANY healthy, loving, beautiful years of happiness. Family is priceless.
