‘The X Factor’ continued on tonight with more of the ‘Four Chair Challenge’ — and the competition is really heating up as the Boys and Groups shows us what they’ve got! Did you agree with the judge’s choices? Let us know!
Guys Group On ‘The X Factor': Who Advanced?
Since Demi Lovato and Kelly Rowland have already chosen their top four picks for their respective Girls and Over 25 groups, it’s down to the Guys and Groups. Guys first!
Al Calderon‘s performance of a strange dubstep version of “Call Me Maybe” reminded me of a terrible singing audition scene in a movie where that person is obviously going to get cut and is just there for comic relief. But in a strange twist of fate, Paulina says yes to the 19-year-old! I guess stranger things have happened?
Isaiah Alston, 15, is totally cute, has a good voice and definitely put his showy jazz hands on display — but his audition is really only going to propel him to the lead in his high school’s spring musical. He got a no — but gave it his all, though!
Yikes is all we have to say about Issac Tauaefa‘s jazzed-up rendition of “Bubbly.” And mind you, he’s a 23-year-old burly bouncer. Awkward. He tried hard, however — and still got a no.
Carlos Guevara is our next success! The 16-year-old with Tourette’s syndrome rocked the house with “Ain’t No Sunshine” and was met with unanimous approval.
Stone Martin‘s impressive range shone through an oddly arranged version of “Torn.” I don’t know what I like about this 14-year-old, but he definitely has the boy band ballad appeal. If he becomes famous, maybe he’ll ditch the plaid button-up and start taking shirtless selfies on Instagram. He’s in!
17-year-old Chase Goehring‘s wacked-out, half-rap half-weird version of “Airplanes,” had me thinking he was a goner for sure! I guess Paulina heard something I didn’t hear though, because he got a yes!
Tim Olstad‘s performance of “The Climb” is a bit melodramatic and awkward for me — but not for Paulina, because Tim, 23, not only gets a yes but gets poor Stone Martin’s chair! It’ll be okay, mini-Bieber.
Carlito Olivera, 24, is what I’ve been waiting for! His voice is amazing and he’s charismatic and fits the bill for a true performer, giving “Dreaming Of You,” a whole new side! He gets a yes and Chase gets a bye!
Timmy Thames, 13, shook up the competition with a cool look and an awesome performance of “New Girl In Town!” He then takes Tim’s spot! But in a shocking last-minute decision, Paulina puts Tim back in and forces herself to say goodbye to Al!
Josh Levi is last — but definitely not least! The 15-year-old’s gorgeous rendition of “I Can’t Make You Love Me” was perfection! He’s obviously in — but who’s out? Timmy!
And there you have it, ladies and gents! The Guys group final four is: Carlito, Carlos, Josh and Tim!
Simon Cowells ‘X Factor’ Group: Who Does He Pick?
Groups time is always fun to watch — and Simon’s crew starts off with a bang!
Girls United is a bit pitchy and amateurish with “Yeah 3x,”, but they’re fun and sexy, so Simon says yes!
Wild Things reminded me of Thing 1 and Thing 2, running amok onstage and basically screaming “Party Rock Anthem” — and Simon must be off his rocker because he said yes!
Glamour is by far the cutest trio ever! Three girls made up the group, dancing and performing like the Supremes to “Cups,” and they were definitely too fun to say no to!
Country made an appearance tonight with Restless Road, singing “Somebody Like You,” and the crowd went wild — and they got a yes!
Tomorrow night, you’ll meet the rest of the groups! Who was YOUR favorite performance of the night, HollywoodLifers? Let us know!
