if young girls need good influences she can talk… she pretty much saying that these artists aren’t good influences yet she still disses them behind their backs… is that really a good influence to young girls across the world??

How did she diss them “behind their backs”? It sounds like she was pretty outspoken.

spoken like someone who hasnt seen many many artists fade away, cant wait till you eat your words in 5 years. one direction will be first because 5 guys in a boy band can never get along into their 20s, hasnt happened once in history. they only have ‘one direction left’ – down.

All of the people getting angry at her can’t seem to get past the idea that, as artists, these people are not above criticism. all she’s saying is young girls need positive influences not more songs about how girls are only good for sex. Don’t Selena Gomez’ young fans believe they some intrinsic value beyond their sexual organs? Because they do. Everyone does.

As far as Beiber goes, he promotes a kind of lifestyle that most people will never attain. He projects a fantasy of the life his fans wish they could have.

As for Taylor Swift, I want people to insult me by calling me flawless and perfect. Everyone should do that; talk about how perfect i am.

Seriously, none of Lorde’s comments were disrespectful.

At least she’s not fake. We all have opinions. Some of us may hate Selena Gomez and love Taylor Swift. Some of us may love Selena Gomez and hate Justin Bieber. We all have opinions. Why shouldn’t she? People need to stop thinking of celebrities as god-like beings. They are no different from us. And some people who are saying she’s gone far are the ones who like to make fun of other celebrities. Just because you’re famous doesn’t mean you can’t have an opinion.

Wait, this Lorde girl is only 16 but she is quoted talking about how music has changed so much in the past 15 years…Right. She seems to think she is above the artists she dissed and I have a hard time believing she is 16, looks much older.

In regards to her music. I have only heard a couple minutes of the Royals song because my friend made me listen to it. Never heard it again. I do like the Alex Boye African tribal cover though.

I’m 22, that doesn’t mean I won’t know about music history in the past 23 years. I do. It’s called studying. It’s not like we can’t go back into the past pop cultures and analyze them. That’s what she did. It’s called history, I’m sure you’ve heard of it.

yes its quite funny how someone can be surprised at knowing music from the last 15.

its called the internet, maybe you should get on it since you don’t know the music in question.
