Beasties, prepare to watch Vincent and Catherine ‘fall in love all over again’ when The CW hit returns for its second season — tonight at 9 p.m.!
Beauty & The Beast fans were crushed when Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) were torn apart on May’s season finale, and after three long months, their suffering is almost over! “VinCat” finally becomes whole again on the Oct. 7 season premiere — though the reunion won’t come without a snag or two. HollywoodLife.com recently visited the show’s Toronto set to get the scoop directly from Jay and Kristin’s mouths.
“For [Catherine], it’s something she’s been wanting desperately,” Kristin says of the reunion. “She spent three months of her life sacrificing everything to find him, so it’s a relief. It’s like her life has been saved, in a way. And then very quickly, it becomes challenging. For [Vincent], it’s shocking. For him … it’s going to be a shocking experience.”

But don’t freak out just yet, as Jay’s explanation of Catherine and Vincent’s reunion is a little more hopeful. While he acknowledges that VinCat will struggle, fans will still enjoy the experience, as it’s very reminiscent of their journey in season one:
The whole season for everybody is, ‘Who am I?’ For Vincent, he has no idea who he is because it’s all been zapped away. When Catherine throws him this lifeline, and he lets her in again, he realizes that he actually is somebody who has a purpose in this world other than to follow orders. It’s kind of interesting to allow them to fall in love all over again, and for her to chisel away at this new guy. He’s got a lot of blocks up again, but we want to play with Vince’s new senses. We reveal what the beast can do in season two in the first episode, and those senses are heavily interrupted by Catherine.
Another chance to watch Catherine and Vincent fall in love? Yeah, we’re not about to pass that up.
Of course, there’s a third person involved in Vincent and Catherine’s relationship in season three — Catherine’s biological father, who we first encountered at the end of the finale. And you can bet he won’t make things easy for couple.
“[Catherine’s father] is the one who’s running the show in the capturing of Vincent, so he has a lot to do with who Vincent now is,” Jay explains. “That might ultimately be because he wants to have his daughter back in his life. … If he can control the guy she’s in love with, he holds the power.”
