Airport security is notoriously rough, but a 9-year old boy in Minnesota passed through multiple security checks and boarded a plane to Vegas — without a ticket! The stowaway was discovered by the flight crew en-route, but airport security camera footage revealed that the boy had been in the airport for two days.

A 9-year-old boy snuck through security at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and boarded a Delta flight to Las Vegas without a boarding pass on Oct. 3. The boy, believed to be a runaway, passed through three security checks and found a seat on the plane — even though he did not have a ticket!

9-Year Old Boy Sneaks Onto Plane — Flies To Las Vegas

Security footage revealed that a young boy spent Oct. 2 and 3 at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport. “MSP officials say he took someone’s luggage off a carousel, ordered food at a pre-security restaurant, asked the server to watch his luggage while he went to the restroom, but never returned,” reported KARE-11. On Oct. 3, he boarded a plane to Las Vegas, despite not having a boarding pass.

The flight crew became suspicious of the young boy on the flight when his name was not on their list of unaccompanied minors, explained Metropolitan Airports Commission spokesman Patrick Hogan.

The boy was stopped and questioned upon arrival in Las Vegas.

“The story has a good ending because at least the flight crew took the appropriate actions and the child was returned safely,” said Pat Hogan. “Obviously the concern is how the child was able to go through the security screening process and board an airplane in the first place.”

TSA Investigate How Boy Boarded Airplane

“We are investigating the incident and cooperating with the agencies involved,” Delta officials said in a statement to KARE-11. “At this point, this is a Delta and TSA issue,” said Pat Hogan.

It remains unclear why the boy was headed to Las Vegas, but he was to be returned back to the Twin Cities, according to officials.

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you shocked that a 9-year-old managed to sneak onto a plane?

It’s like Home Alone 2 in real life. The character Kevin wanted to look for batteries for his talkboy tape recorder and then he was mistaken for the exact jacket that his dad was wearing. As a result, he ended up in New York City, while his family is in Miami, Florida. It is a pre-9/11 movie, nowadays it is hard to get through the TSA checkpoints.

It is bad enough that he was able to board the plane without a ticket, but to be in an airport for 2 days and had no parents looking for him…that is even worse than the boarding of the plane. Where are his parents…and was he returned to them? Are they being looked into by child protective services? Seems pretty bad on all fronts.
