Robert Downey’s son, Indio, is undergoing drug treatment for a prescription pills, a new report says — so sad.
The last thing that Robert Downey Jr., 48, would want for his twenty-year-old son, Indio Falconer Downey, would be a drug problem similar to the one he publicly battled for a little under a decade. Indio’s treatment is not reported as serious — but what do you think?
Robert Downey Jr.’s Son Has A Prescription Pill Problem
This must be such sad news for Robert, who had his own lengthy and public battle with drug addiction for about eight years.
“This is a nightmare for Robert because his boy has never been in trouble before,” a source tells the National Enquirer. “He’s praying for Indio’s recovery.”
Indio’s mother, singer and actress Deborah Falconer, is also very concerned about his problem. “He was not addicted,” she stated to the publication. “He was taking one pill a day.”
Deborah was married to Robert from 1992 to 2001, seeing her then-husband through his drug addiction when he hit rock bottom. We feel bad she’s dealing with a similar situation all over again.
A source told the magazine that Indio’s condition “doesn’t appear to be anything serious,” a source reported. He “does not have a problem with prescription drugs or narcotics.”
Indio is undergoing “holistic, natural and orthomolecular’ therpay in a treatment facility,” Deborah told the magazine. “We are hoping to do it the homeopathic way rather than with medications. He’s being treated with vitamin supplements and organic foods. He’s doing great. He’ll be back playing music and doing better soon.”
Sad to think, but — is Indio taking after his father?
Robert Downey Jr.’s Serious Drug Addiction
Robert is no stranger to being addicted to pills. The Academy Award-nominated actor has come a long way since the end of his legendary battle with drugs, getting arrested for possession of marijuana, heroine and cocaine, as well as going to rehab and prison multiple times throughout his life.
Indio seems to have a bright future, though, as he’s in a rock band, The Seems, that regularly play at The Viper Room in LA. He also appeared with his father in the film Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in 2009, and is in Run For Roxanne, coming out in 2014.
We hope that Indio is getting the treatment he needs — it’s wonderful that his parents are being so supportive.
