Sept. 29 kicked off the season premiere of ‘Eric & Jessie: Game On’ on E! and while it’s a new couple we’re not extremely familiar with, these two have all the characteristics to be the next ‘it’ couple in Hollywood.
Eric Decker & Jessie James: A Perfect Combination
Being introduced to Eric & Jessie: Game On, I’m going to be honest — I wasn’t sure if I was interested. As a football fan, I know him. As a pop fan (and lover of her hit Wanted), I think Jessie’s adorable.
However, I didn’t know if they could pull it off.
The trend of hot couple shows — ie. Newlyweds (the reality show not the game show), Britney & Kevin: Chaotic, Meet the Barkers, and Khloe & Lamar — has fizzled a bit, and caused many couples to actually split.
Sure, we still have Married to Jonas, but it’s hard for a new couple to break into that world — especially one with two people that are new to the celebrity world in general.
They’re Relatable & Real
However, I think that because Jessie is so relatable — a real girl’s girl with a warm heart — it actually works.
Like every girl, she loves when Eric does little things (like bring her breakfast in bed), she loves her little golden retriever puppies, and she spends her free time bonding with Sydney, her sister and best friend.
Her relationship with Eric is absolutely adorable. Their chemistry reminds me of Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett‘s — he’s struggling with the ever-changing life of an NFL player, and she’s trying to make her career work and balance it with a family life. They’re even planning a wedding in the show — and in real life, expecting a baby.
While we didn’t necessarily need to see them in a bubble bath together, I actually think that these two could make a good, successful reality show. And they could be a couple that we’d love to see more of — I think I’d actually want to hang out with them!
So, HollywoodLifers — did you watch the premiere? Do you think Jessie and Eric have what it takes to be the next big reality TV couple? Let me know!
