Michael and Catherine have been Hollywood’s golden couple for 13 years — and even though they are separated now, a new report says they won’t consider a divorce.
It was so sad when Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones decided they would take some time apart from their marriage on Aug. 28. However, neither star has filed for divorce or moved toward a legal separation — and they won’t, claims a report.
Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones — No Divorce?
Michael, 69, and Catherine, 44, might be taking a break in their marriage — but it doesn’t look like the superstar couple will be filing divorce papers, according to new reports.
“This is a separation, not a split. Not a divorce,” a source told People magazine.
The couple seem to be amicably trying to work things out with no nasty words being exchanged. After him surviving throat cancer and her being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, they’ve had their trials — but aren’t throwing in the towel on 13 years of marriage.
“”They’re not giving up,” another source says in the interview.
Michael Douglas Thanks Catherine Zeta-Jones Despite Separation
Michael proved that separated doesn’t mean split. He showed that he meant it at the 65th Annual Emmy Awards when accepting his award:
I want to thank my wife, Catherine, for her support; my kids, Dylan and Carys.
Backstage at the Emmys, Michael spoke with Entertainment Tonight, where he said he was “hopeful” his relationship with his wife of 13 years would improve.
“Everybody is fine. Nothing really more to say,” the actor said. “We were just taking a little break. We’re talking. I think everything will be fine and I’m very hopeful.”
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Do you think Michael and Catherine will be able to work their marriage out?
